Production which reminds of Daft Punk ;)
Dance Nation - Sunshine First of all, following the new way of writing reviews ;), I am posting the list of reviewed singles/remixes: 1. Dance Nation - Sunshine (original version) 2. Dance Nation - Sunshine (Dream Dance mix) 3. Dance Nation - Sunshine (Wippenberg mix) I continue working with DD and TTF in recent times, this is the new selection made by CJ to describe. The tune itself is fine, i really like it. But there are some points to discuss: first of all, those vocals seem to have been pirated from the last hit by Daft Punk - "One More Time". Maybe it is a very widespread sound effect or they are working together, but it is possible to mix those tracks. Original version is almost nine minutes long and is made after all classical trance producing rules. Here is no new formula but a well done single ;). Actually I enjoyed the original, it is not fast with bpms and not aggressive, but easy (I mean not complicated) to listen. Dream Dance crew brought the biggest surprise - their remake is almost seven (!) minutes long, this absolutely not typical (usually it is about 03:30 for each track, only the most impressive parts). And this time they represented it full. I was surprised, it is a good rework. But still not "blasting" the speakers - double Electro chorus, clear melody and vocals create a good combination, but people should also dance ;) So I took the TTF 18 and ... it is here! Mr. Wippenberg remixed "Sunshine", this is what I have been looking for almost a week. the vocals in this remix are moved to the second level, to the backstage, rhythm dominates, melody comes first (I write this because I received a lot of feedback after posting my article about "Too Many Time s" - people say, the vocals are here first because "too many times you put your life to the test" etc.) This is another case, music first. About te sound itself - it seems that all modern/contemporary trance/Electro effects disappeared, it is so clear and sweet ;). Highly recommended, all versions. Original is impressive, Dream Dance left everything quality and Wippenberg is excellent for the dance floor. CJ Slater
