Next up on Lost Language, a melodic monster courtesy of Cultivate. As usual the label of the moment never fails to deliver a stunning lineup of remixes, turning the knobs on this release are Max Graham, Dale Askew & Goldenscan.
This next release has already been described as the 'xpander' of this summer, Cultivate - Broken Pieces was originally released on transcend but Lost Language have licenced the track for a full UK release with a selection of stunning remixes.
1st up on disc 1 is a progressive feeling melodic mix coming courtesy of Canadian wizard Max Graham. Max delivers a trademark mix, using his typical percussive sounds and definate bass, beautiful warm synths and a subtle groove to the whole track. The breakdown is lush, when the kick comes back, you know it!
On the flip is the Original Mix, Its progressive sounding percussion adds a nice groove to the track, while the bass gives the track a touch of energy about it. The breakdown is suitably melodic with a touch of Xpander style effects on the synths.
Disc 2 is the pick of the discs for me and the brilliant Goldenscan Remix is the pick of the bunch. They add energy to the track, with perfect percussion and an energetic but not overwelming bassline carries it into a driving trancer. The mellow bassline is long and teasing, it uses great efects to move up and down. When the kick comes back it explodes into a beautiful melodic trancer with a slightly altered melody. This is the 1 for those who like it uplifting. Its one of those rare tracks that has the ability to be played almost anywhere in a trancey set.
Backing disc 2 is a fantastic remix from Dale Askew. This remix is a totally different take on the track and gives the package more variation. Askew uses the electro funk trance sounds that have been taking off bigtime in the scene recently. The track is filled with energy and dirty synths, but Askew still manages to keep some melodic parts in the track that work really well. This remix had the potential to go very wrong, but it has turned out so very right. This 1 will be a hit with Tomcraft/Eniac and Da Hool fans.
