We have been waiting for another Delerium song like Silence, and Innocente for a long time, and now Rhys Fulber & Bill Leeb have released their latest offering: After All. Taken from the forthcoming album Chimera. Does it live up to the expectations…??
Delerium aka Rhys Fulber & Bill Leeb have been releasing stuff for years and years, remember Silence, Innocente, Heaven’s Earth,…?
Now they add After All to that list. On this 12” there are two very different remixes, one for the progressive tranceaddicts, and one for the uplifting tranceaddicts.
A: Satoshi Tomiie Remix Satoshi is doing what he does best, making songs that go beyond boundaries…This is hardly an exception. This starts off with a driving bassline, and a cool melody. But what Satoshi did right, was to keep the amazing vocals by Jaël, and he based the whole song around those vocals. In the middle of the song, there’s a great piano bit. This song is great for building up a progressive set, or even an uplifting set, it suits them both.
AA: Svenson & Gielen Remix Johan Gielen & Sven Maes turn this song into one uplifting monster, but it misses something. I can’t quite put my finger to it… maybe it’s power, or emotion? It has a nice breakdown, with a lot of synths, sound effects, and different layers. But I find that the only thing that keeps this song together are the amazing vocals by Jaël. Quite frankly, I'm disappointed in this remix.
Conclusion:
This is one great record, but it doesn't live up to Silence, but should it live up to that? If we just look at this record without comparing it to Silence, this is a good record!! Although the S&G remix could have been better, it will please a lot of people. The true gem on this 12", is the Satoshi Tomiie Remix
