 A couple of weeks ago we got a brief interview with Judge himself. Now all you i:Viber's get the change to read it!
i:Vibes has talked to Judge Jules. The man behind half of Hi-gate and the famous radio show every saturday. If you have not heard about him..... weeeell where have you been ? Afghanistan ? :-)
1. Where do you get your inspiration from ?
Judge Jules: Trying to play and make the music I like, rather than what the media tells me I should like.
2. Will you soon release anything new ? (rmx or own productions maybe an album ?)
Judge Jules: Hi Gate album due spring 2002. New single entitled "Oboe Song" due earlier.
3. What do you think of mp3 and napster etc. ?
Judge Jules: Good for spreading the word about dj's, when their sets are downloaded. Bad
for music sales.
4. What do you think the future of trance will bring ?
Judge Jules: Evolution not revolution.
5. Of all producers & DJ's, who do you most admire/respect ?
Judge Jules: M.I.K.E. from Push, Mauro Picotto, Darren Tate.
6 What is your favorite tune at the moment and all time favorite (own
productions and others ) ?
Judge Jules: All time favourite- Dj Misjah & Dj Tim- Access. Current fave- Minimalistix- "Close Cover"
7. And finally can you give some good advices to a newbie DJ/producer ?
Judge Jules: If you're a budding dj, the best way to get your name known is to get in the
studio and make some tunes. If you're a wannabe producer, befriend a dj and
get him or her to road test your productions and give you feedback
