© i:Vibes LTDThis is one of Swedens largest festivals bringing a wide range of musicstyles into one place (not only mainstream, but also more less-known artists, known by their fans only).
As usual some great Israeli psytrance acts was invited, and that's what attracted i:Vibes to the event.

The Arvika Festival was during the three days between 10 - 12 of July, filled with great performences and alot of happy faces! Personally I had an absolutely kickass time and I am pretty sure I was not the only one!

This review is maybe coming a little bit late but as everyone else, also I am a busy guy!

Saturday was without a doubt the best night of them all since I know alot of the peple being there was there simply because of two reasons, two of israels most appreciated acts. Namely Ari Linker and Avi Smahilov also very known as Alien Project and Astrix!

The stage name was Impetus and the deco guys had done quite a good job giving the place a psychedelic touch with alot of colours and some nice twisted paintings along with great lights, smoke and visual effects! Those who weren't there really missed something.

The day started with DJ Tege who is a quite well known DJ from Sweden since he has played at numerous underground parties and clubs but to be honest I didn't feel like Tege did such a great job, he did play some nice party tunes but he didnt show that excitement he often does so therefore I am not gonna say he did such a good job allthough he did play very well and is without doubt a great DJ!

Necton, a swedish guy who has had two very succesfull album releases in the past on Spiral Trax, played some new material from his next album. Necton's previous style as I know of is very stompy and very late night and dark psychedelic and sometimes a bit proggy and this day he had not changed his style which I appreciate alot since it's damn good! He made me feel very touched by his music as I stood dancing on the floor enjoying my beer and the shiny sunlight outside, I really think his coming album is worth checking out cuz I really liked the tunes alot! I could tell the people on the dancefloor was happy about his performence but I think most of the crown was still at the camping site waiting for the nights climax! Necton is very recomended!

After Necton I decided to take a break before going to see Alien Project, so I did!

The time had come for me to see Alien Project for the second time in my life, last time i saw him he was awesome and tonight was certainly no exception at all. The dancefloor was full before he opened up the coming hour with his first tune. I know that all of the people was there to see him and they did not get dissapointed at all!

The sound of the future has embarked but it wasnt what I had expected. It was much better, all the tunes he played was unknown to me and I have heard every released tune he has produced I think. And god damn his set was totally outstanding, the crowd went nuts, and personally I couldn't stand still for a minute. Ari Linker sure know what he is doing when he is turning the knobs behind his dj stage and what a kickass performence it was. The crowd was roaring like crazy when the set was over, Ari bowed and so did I cuz it felt like my legs was totally numb from all the dancing and all those damn beers! That is a festival in my opinion, dancing, beers and a hell of a lot of fun!

I skipped the next guys playing because of the exhaustment I was feeling at the time so I went to my tent, had a beer and loaded up for my absolute favourite artist, Astrix!

To my surprise when I arrived 5 minutes before he was gonna start the dancefloor was even more packed now then when Alien Project played, that I surely did not expect!

Avi started his set and it was a great intro. I could see the anticipation in the eyes of everyone at the dancefloor. Everyone knew - just like I knew that this was gonna be great! Both Alien Project and Astrix have quite similar style and taste but not tonight it seemed! Astrix played alot of his hits, known to me anyway. And just like the crowd I couldn't stop dancing when Astrix played tunes like Daydream, Solaris, Massive Activity and Scientific Reality. These are tunes that has been going over and over on my stereo but tonight i feelt the shivers arrive again for one last time while he was playing them, it sure was a great feeling, a great performence and one dancing experience I will never forget! When Avi ended his set he left the crowd screaming for more, and of course Avi, as the nice guy he, is put on another tune with a huge smile on his face!

As I was there as a Journalist I had access to the backstage area where I had a chance to meet Alien Project and Astrix, that was easily the highlight of the weekend!

All in all I really enjoyed going to the festival, and it was my first time camping amongst a bunch of crazy people...
