Andy Perring & Steve Helstrip are back with their next Insigma release. It’s hard to produce a follow-up to Open Our Eyes, but Avalon might just do it…
First we have the Original Mix, which of course is typemarked with the Insigma sound: lots of beats, lots of melody, lots of effects. And then, the moment we have all waited for, the melody. Remember the melody from Open Our Eyes?? This is of the same quality. It was hard to do this, but Andy & Steve did it. And who can forget that typical clap. Normally I don’t like uplifting trance no more, but once in a while, there is a song which stands out from the rest. This year I’ve had it with Pulser – My Religion (another Andy Perring production), Push – Journey Of Life, Airwave – When Things Go Wrong, and now you can add Insigma – Avalon to that list of uplifting tracks that stand out from the rest. ATCR knows their stuff!
The Midway Remix is done by Ralph Barendse, or Ralphie B. This remix by Ralph, lost a lot of the Insigma trademarks, and were replaced with some nice strings and synths, which Ralph is famous for. This is a full on trancer, but somehow it doesn’t fulfil my needs. It’s good, but it’s not that Insigma sound that I’m looking for.
Conclusion:
The Original Mix is what I expected, AMAZING, Insigma did it once again, but I'm a bit disappointed with the Midway Remix, I expected something different.
