We have seen on many occasions lately of tunes being remade for 2003, from Gamemaster to Blue Fear, but I'm going to take you back, to a track that came out long before the originals to those, Loops & Tings, a very simple track but very effective, and given the Marco V treatment for 2003!
You'd have to have been stuck in a cave not to have heard Marco playing this on many of his livesets that you can listen to on radio, and having been road-tested in clubs like Gatecrasher and events such as Sensation, it's time for us all to own a limited copy!
We begin with a kick & bassline very typical of Marco, but unique to him, so each time you hear it you don't get fed up, and some soft percussions plus the use of a flanger which sounds better the louder you play it! This breaks us down with the flanger still in action, and the bleeps you'll recognise from the original come into play. Moving on from this the kick returns until we're ready for the Piano sample, simplistic but still sounding catchy & effective. Add to this the kick and more flanged bits and we're ready to move onto the main section.
This comes just shy of the 3 minute mark, and the bleeps go on & on with the piano soon added over the top. It might sound a bit dated to some, but definitely not fans like myself who've been awaiting this release for most of the year. A Standard breakdown later we're all systems go, and the rest is pretty standard, with the piano coming in & out in places, the lovely percussion & flanged effects helping us out even more and it's soon time to mix in the next track
Conclusion:
In my personal top 10 of the year, now you have the chance to own a limited edition copy, don't waste your time considering, if Marco's Sound is for you buy your copy now!
