Armin Van Buuren's A State Of Trance label is used to deliver yet another gorgeous piece of trance. As was with the previous releases on ASOT, this does not disappoint!
Envio - Touched By The Sun comes in three flavours. The Original, Envio's Sunrise Remix and Rusch & Elusive's Chill-Out Mix. What we have here are three quality mixes, each of which suits a particular avenue of trance. Heres the breakdown.
:: Envio - Touched By The Sun :: ASOT :: ASOT 007
A1: Original This track starts off quickly with a beat, percussion, snare and ambience which are used to create a buildup quickly to gently launch you into the track. At this point a bassline comes in and an instrument is added to compliment the beat. At this point, nothing much else happens for a while, and thats the beauty of it. The sound you have here is a combination of various trance styles. Think Chicane, think Ibiza a few years ago, think uplifting, chilled, ambient and trance - this sound which seems so familiar, Envio has made unique once more, so much so it just oozes enjoyment. After this section, a breakdown occurs. Its a wonderful, ambient section where an absolutely sublime electric guitar is introduced. Once this gives way, you're treated to more of the electric guitar playing over the main body of the track. Another smaller breakdown comes around, then the track starts to break up and begin the wind down. Eyes closed on the dancefloor, let your body do the rest.
B1: Envio's Sunrise Remix This remix starts off differently - it has an intro similar to that found on some of the 'Intro Mix' versions of current tracks. Its nice and relaxing, there is a lot of ambience and its topped off with that beautiful electric guitar again. A breakbeat section follows this, which is itself split in two by a breakdown featuring a wonderful electric guitar solo. Eventually, the track jumps into life - this is very similar to the main section of the Original. To finish, you're treated to an outro - a nice dose of ambience and calmness to finish instead of peeling things off layer by layer.
B2: Rusch & Elusive's Chill-Out Mix This mix has everything you'd expect from a chill-out mix. Calm, cool, a stack of ambience, lots of reverb and that excellent electric guitar! Plus, its joined by an accoustic guitar to preserve some of that classic chilled-out feel. Also, there are two breakbeat sections placed within the ambience to keep things moving.
Trance purists won't be able to miss this, and fans of the ASOT label will not be disappointed.
Conclusion:
Three excellent mixes of this quality track. Theres a mix for every occasion - you could wake up to the sunrise mix, absorb the original on the dancefloor and then chill with the final mix into the small hours of the morning. Superb.
