The trance anthem you've all been waiting for - 'Naked Angel' is almost here. Its been playlisted by some of the biggest names around - Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Scott Bond and Above & Beyond to name a few. With support like that, it can only mean this track is going to be huge.
This is the second time Scott Bond and Solarstone have gone head to head in the studio to produce a track. Last time round it was the delicious '3rd Earth' on ID&T. This time round, the results are just as good - which I expect a lot of you already know!
:: Scott Bond Vs. Solarstone - Naked Angel :: Deep Blue Promo :: 12ENGLAND02
Single Sided 'Naked Angel' starts with a brief ghostly sounding vocal intro and then gets moving with a good solid thumping kick backed up by a two tiered bassline - a very deep basic bass with another layer of lively, more highly pitched bass on the top. A quieter section follows, where the distinct and beautiful piano is introduced. Only a hint of it though, but enough for you to hear the crisp, reverberated piano play a few chords before the tune continues towards its peak. A soft sounding synth begins playing the Naked Angel melody subtly, not in the background, but not in a greatly obvious manner either. At this point you hear the dreamy female vocals for the first time, which lead into a breakdown featuring heavily on the vocal - which doesn't consist of any actual words, but just long, high "Aaaah"'s - and the main melody played wonderfully by the piano. This mixture of voice, instrument, synth and beat just simply works really, really well. Another gorgeous piano and vocal breakdown comes around to launch you into the final main section of this beautifully sounding track. In a club this would be sublime. Hands up, eyes closed. Massive.
Conclusion:
'Naked Angel' is bound to be huge. It is a really great tune - one with the power to grow on you even if you're not particularly struck by it initially. The combination of piano and vocal work together so well and have been expertly implemented to form a sure fire trance anthem.
