An Unknown Artist produced this track a while ago and got it onto a single sided Waxworkxx promo. Still seemingly unreleased, it has resurfaced once more for an attempt at the recognition it deserves...
Its always a shame when tracks make it onto vinyl but don't have any indication of an artist name - especially when they turn out to be really nice tracks. This particular track, 'Swept Away', fits rather unfortunately into that category. It first surfaced very late in the summer, but even with reported playlisting by the likes of Ferry Corsten, Kai Tracid and Johan Gielen it doesn't appear to have received a full blown release so it is still only available in this single sided promo form.
:: Unknown - Swept Away :: Waxworkxx Promo :: WW001
Single Sided 'Swept Away' starts with a tinny and bassless percussive section but moves quickly on by introducing a good kick, flowing bass and stabs of a very electronic sounding synth. This progresses further still after the introduction of a top layer of more trancey sounding synths which soon become the main feature of this initial section. The first part of the breakdown that follows is a vocal section. The vocal itself is hard to make out because of the effects added to it, but it sounds cracking because of that. To top this, the second part of the breakdown ensues extremely with an explosion of thick, euphoric synth that will give the hairs on the back of your neck a good workout without a doubt. The synths build and work on the beginnings of the melody while being backed up by the vocal. A good amount of time is spent building everything up, to finally jump into action featuring the solid kick, lively percussion and the wonderful synth melody which is very active and lively so it holds your interest. There are a few switches between the melodic synth section and another vocal driven section where the synths take on a position in the background. Soon after this, the track then eases itself gently down to a close.
Conclusion:
'Swept Away' is a great sounding track. Its just unfortunate that there isn't an artist name or a full on signing to go with it. It seems though that this track has gone sadly overlooked, so if you see it anywhere, I urge you - give it a listen!
