After the first Interview in January, I decided to have another close look to Angelo Bott aka Solid Slide and found out that in his mission to give back trance its soul, another milestone was reached - A brandnew Vinyl on Bonzai, as well as a lot of new information about the gifted Artist...

DYM: Hi, Angelo! Now we are near the end of 2003, concerning Techno & Trance a really incredible year, only a new Solid Slide vinyl is missing, and I bet u have something for us !
Angelo: Hi Dino. Yeah, that’s true. My first soloproduction on vinyl will be released on the wellknown belgium Bonzai label early next year.

DYM: When did you have the idea to the track?
Angelo: In a warm summer-evening last july. It was one of these moments when you have an idea in your head which won’t disappear. It’s perfect, if you can convert the idea to a track.

DYM: What happened next after you finished this production and how came the connection to Bonzai music?
Angelo: I sent the track to a few, carefully selected labels, among them also to Bonzai, which always was one of my favored labels. To my astonishment, their a&r liked it and was very interested to sign it. After a few weeks of negotiations, the contract was finally signed. It’s a big honour to join such a label, which stands for pure quality music.

DYM: Do you have a release date for us?
Angelo: It should see the daylight in February 2004 on Banshee’s Sublabel „Fourty 5“ (formerly known as xtc – music for the mind)

DYM: Will it be a onesided Vinyl or do u have a b- side for us, too?
Angelo: First, I wasn’t sure if I should do another mix of “Burning Flame”. I decided to produce a completely different track for the b-side. It’s called „Burned“ and it’s straighter than Burning Flame.

DYM: Sounds pretty good, we are very curious to listen to it soon; did a small amount of people already enjoy it in a club?
Angelo: I couldn’t test it, cause i didn’t really had bookings in the past months. “Burning Flame” got big support by uprising english dj Andy Bagguley (Passion). I sent him the track straight after it was finished and he loved it. He played it almost always. As I was told by Andy, the reactions were great and a few dj’s asked him for a CD-R ;-)

DYM: Once more back to Bonzai music – did you have contact to other Bonzai artists?
Angelo: I had the chance to meet yves, laurent & jurgen in september (they played at the oxa club). It was a brilliant night and I’m still impressed of their attitudes. They are totally down to earth & friendly.

DYM: Now I am curious – did they listen your new track yet and if yes how was their resonance?
Angelo: the resonance was very positively. They heard “Burning Flame” in the office. Laurent played it at OXA and it was like a dream came true.

DYM: I can imagine, what a feeling this must be! Did you plan more Solid Slide- productions in the near future?
Angelo: I’m always working on new stuff, I have a few unfinished tracks at the moment. It’s more like a pool of ideas. I think I should sort them out sometimes ;-) I don’t have fixed deals for other projects at the moment… let’s see what the future brings.. DYM: How about your remixes? Will there be some Solid Slide Remixes soon?
Angelo: At the moment, I’m working on a remix for Andy Prinz’ new project „code 4“. It will be a completely different remix. After Andy gave me the vocals, I had that idea of a breakbeat styled remix. I just feeled the desire to produce something new, which nobody expect.. not even I :-) For this reason, the remix will be under my real name..

DYM: Why under your real name and not under your artist name „Solid Slide“?
Angelo: A few persons asked me that. It’s quite simple: another style, another guise. I always had that idea with my real name, but I left it on the side for a special moment. That moment came now..

DYM: Are there any other news concerning your productions or collaborations with other DJ’s or producers?
Angelo: I will start with another Remix straight after finishing the “code 4”-remix. It’s a remix for another swiss artist, which is signed to Banshee Worx too. A few days ago, I’ve started a new track under the projectname „Electro Slide“. It’s a combination of oldskool electro-styled elements and the typical Solid Slide style. The first track is called “Electro Slide” and it’s going to get a harder, technostyled remix by slovenian producer Mic-E.

DYM: Oh back to Slovenia again – have u been to Slovenia again lately o rare there some visits planned?
Angelo: i’ve played again in april and it was a nice night with nice people. “Analogica Productions”, a slovenian promotergroup, works hard to give trance a higher status. Techno is still the mainthing. At the moment, I don’t have confirmed dates in slovenia for 2004.

DYM: How is your DJ booking at the moment? Any news?
Angelo: I’ve focused the past months on producing. I want to play more dj-gigs in the future, but it’s hard to get quality bookings without an agency. If someone is interested in a booking, don’t hesistate to contact me under info@solidslide.cc. Thanks ;-)

DYM: Nearly at the end of our Interview I wanted to ask you about „Ayion – Thru the night“: How did you experience the success of this production? Here in germany we haven’t been spared by this amazing Track too ...
Angelo: Ayion has been released on the wellknown dutch label gesture music back in june. The feedback was mainly good and it got support by wellknown djs like Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Darren Tate & DJ Fire. it was nominated in Armin’s ASOT-show as “future favourite”, which was a big honour for us.
