F&W - You Will Understand [F&W Records]

F&W - here on their own new label and bringing with them a new track, 'You Will Understand'. This one has been snapped up by Judge Jules already and is pretty much guaranteed to be thrashed by all the big names in all the big rooms! You WILL Understand...

Okay, I'm not going to prolong a verdict until the bottom of the page for this one, simply because this track is just absolutely and utterly fantastic. There, now we can continue...

Those responsible for the F&W alias are the Danish pair Lars Frederiksen and Søren Weile, more widely known as Tukan. They have produced several remixes under the F&W alias but this is their first sole production as F&W and what a production it is!

A: Original
The track begins promptly, going straight into things with a solid kick, percussion and nice rumbling bass. Next, a spooky sounding distorted synth starts to play an almost eerie succession of notes. This leads into a small break featuring only the distorted synth. A new, main synth is introduced as the track comes back to life. Its a big big trance style synth with a crisp distorted edge to it - a wonderfully grand and epic sound which is playing a very simple but powerfully effective hook. There is also a very high pitched synth, emulating orchestral strings, which plays over the top adding the perfect complement to the melody, creating an impeccable overall sound and feel. The breakdown consists of the synths winding down to silence, followed by more spooky echoey and ringing synths. These are accompanied by intermittent female vocal whispers of "You will understand...". The synths then build you back up to an absolute frenzy, where the track unleashes all of its awesome strength and epic power. This continues for a few minutes until the end is approached and the wind down ensues.

B: Instrumental
The Instrumental is identical to the Original other than the female vocal whispers are not included in the breakdown. This track is so good it couldn't be changed. :-)

Conclusion:
'You Will Understand' is superb! This is epic, powerful hard trance at its very very utmost best. If this is just a hint of what F&W have to offer for 2004 then we're in for a good year. Awesome. Simply awesome.
