Ernesto & Bastian first amazed me with Lonely People & Being Single. But Who's The Starter is equally good. Check out this remix package, including a remix by Phynn aka Finne Jager, a former crew member!!
Side A: Dynamic Sense Remix Side B: Phynn Remix Christo Remix
The Dynamic Sense Remix starts off quite easily with a few piano notes announcing the melody. Soon after you hear some vocals and then it begins. A driving beat & baseline surround you like water! It all sounds good, but there are a few things missing. It's quite hard to put my finger on it, but I think it needs a little more energy.
On to the flip, with first the Phynn Remix. Phynn is Finne Jager, someone who used to work for our site, but decided to concentrate on producing, resulting in a few remixes for Ernesto & Bastian, a collaboration with Fictivision, supported by Tièsto to name only one top DJ. Starting off much harder than the Dynamic Sense Remix, this is something completely different. Underneath the song there's a haunting baseline which keeps you interested for the whole song. And the added melodies are great, with a superb 'hands-in-the-air' breakdown in the middle of the song. After that you hear what you're meant to hear, a great song!
And last but not least, we have the Christo Remix. This kind of reminds me of Marco V productions, same hard bass, same driving speed! This remix keeps building & building, till it breakdowns in those cool lyrics: "who's the starter"... and it just keeps that base & speed till the end. This is definitely not for the faint hearted people. But for those who like their stuff hard!
Conclusion:
3 diverse remixes, but my favorite is the Phynn Remix, because the breakdown is fingerlicking good, and it's produced in a more clever way than the other remixes. The Christo Remix is good but too hard for me, I like my stuff more subtle...
