“Sincere” was always going to be a tough track to follow for Firewall, but as always, Lange comes up with a more than adequate answer in the form of Kilimanjaro!!
Original Mix From the very start of this track you know you’re in for a treat with the catchy bass line and minimal percussion. As the layers of percussion build with excellent fx, the synths gradually build up and up till the break after 2mins 30. The breakdown begins quite subtle with no big note changes or pads. The synths continue, bringing in some break beat at the 3 min mark which really starts to get the break going. The break gets bigger and bigger with pure power until after 4 mins when the kick thrashes back in with a hugely effective set of key changes!!! From here the tune is all about the finest bits of Trance!! Uplifting, driving and extremely addictive, the track drops again into some percussion for a minute before lifting off again just before the 6 min mark!!! On the whole a very well produced and thought out track which is sure to rock any dance floor!!
Lange Remix Straight away it becomes apparent that this is a darker, moodier mix with some different sounding percussion from the start. A stabby synth from the beginning gives a taste of what is to come. A minute of minimal percussion and the dirty bass line kicks in. Still the percussion gets layered up gradually and after about 2 mins it starts to become recognizable! The breakdown on this mix is different to the Original in that the key changes are incorporated into it for maximum effect!! Still keeping the darker edge, it fades in and up to some dirty sounding break beat at the 5 min mark. The pads and lead build up and create a mass of power still utilising the breaks. A more raspy sound is used here which fits in perfectly with the rest of the track. Just after 6 mins, the kick comes back in and we’re away again!! The track holds the power for longer on this mix before dropping down near the end of the track. An excellent moody interpretation of a great track!!
Conclusion:
An awesome track which follows easily in the tracks of Sincere. Lange has been DJing & producing for longer than most of us can remember and all of his qualities shine through on this. More original ideas and concepts keep Lange one step ahead of the rest!! Excellent work!!
