 The first ever awards to be solely dedicated to House music will be launch at the Miami winter music conference in March. The awards are a truly global and you can have your say on what tracks get selected as winners.
The awards are very much independent and it is down to the people who submit the tracks to choose the contenders for the various categories on offer.
They include Best Single, Best Album, Best Label, Artist of the Year, Best Vocal, Best Live Performance, Best Remix, Most Innovative Producer, DJ of the Year, Breakthrough DJ, Best Venue, Best Club Night, Best Event WMC, Standout Track of WMC, Best Magazine, Best Web Resource, Best Radio Station, Best Radio Show, Best Store, Most Innovative Technology and Contribution to House Music.
The procedure for picking the tracks could not be more open minded. When the website for the awards goes live you can submit tracks for any of the categories with the contenders gaining the most votes being put forward as House Music Awards Nominees. The awards are not affiliated with any label, studio, magazine, club or DJ. It’s the fans that will decide the winners, that mean’s you.
The timetable for the awards will see the winners being announced in September when all the votes have been counted.
Schedule
6th March: HMA begins, website launches, contender submissions begin.
30th June: Contender submissions close.
15th July: Nominees are announced, voting commences
6th August: Voting closes
When the awards are started you can visit the House Music Awards site and submit your entries. The awards really do give fans of House music to express what they love about the genre they love.
