Sander Van Doorn steps up to present the first release on Spinnin' Records new label - Oxygen Recordings. This one is receiving massive support already...!
The new track, called 'Loaded', on new label Oxygen Recordings is a first for both Van Doorn and Oxygen - and its kicking up a bit of a storm! It has already received support from the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and Paul Van Dyk.
The vinyl holds two mixes - the S.V.D. Remix on the A side and the Original Mix on the B side...
:: Sander Van Doorn - Loaded :: Oxygen Promo :: OX001
A: S.V.D. Remix The S.V.D. Remix begins with a fairly easy going housey sounding beat, laced with some light percussion and a few toms nibbling away in the background. The kick is filtered out and returns with a nice, round, deep and rolling bass. A bassy sfx grows from the background, pulsating along with the bass, giving the track a real progressive strength. There is a short breakdown, which features the bassy sfx being filtered in and out gentley. This is very well done and is used to create a little build up which leads on the the next section of the track. This next section sees the addition of a higher pitched and tinny instrument rising and falling over the deep bass and the steady kick. This subsides and a very gentle and soft synth makes a short appearance with a few notes. This is a nice little progression adding some pleasant sounding variety. There is one final filtered break which leads into the final section of deep rolling bass, pulsing sfx and the rising and falling crisp instrument which does a great job of topping off the sound.
B: Original Mix The Original Mix of 'Loaded' begins with a filtered section of beat and some springy percussion. This quickly gives way into a wickedly deep and rolling bassline and very pronounced hi-hats. Some more drums are used to progress things a little further as the track begins to get under way. This style of progression continues after a short filtered break with the addition of some techno style hi-hats on every half beat and also with the addition of more coarse sounding sfx pulsing in the background. Next comes a longer filtered break, which builds and drops the track into its main section. The new addition here is a coarse and jittery synth stabbing at the same note and periodically stabbing a higher note - basically playing out a simple, yet very effective, melody over and over again. A final filtered break sees the reintroduction of the synth playing out its power in the final section of this track.
Here are two great mixes of Sander Van Doorn's 'Loaded'. The S.V.D. mix is more progressive yet carries a slow but driving, and thus strong, edge to it. The Original Mix takes more to hard and techy trance and carries the essence of Marco V along with it - it persists and continues to build into a strong and driving piece.
Conclusion:
Another excellent start for another of Spinnin' Records new sub-labels - Oxygen Recordings! Sander Van Doorn has done a great job here, really mixing up the tech, prog, trance and techno genres into something new and interesting - just as the label originally promised!
