Trancefloor Easter maddness After the mayhem of non stop partying at the WMC in Miami just passed this is the time of year when all record labels into overdrive. The number of tunes arriving on my doorstep is overwhelming which has got to be good for trancefloors across the globe. Its also gonna be a massive month for Trance partygoers all over the U.K with the real maddness kicking off this Easter bank holiday weekend and it won¹t be Easter eggs we¹ll all be munching!! Definitely a marathon session in store for all of us so book a few days off work and go for it.

Label of the moment - Mondo Mondo Records has rapidly become one of the UK premier dance labels, specialising in trance, hard house, house and progressive. Started in 2000 by DJ and internationally acclaimed record producer Darren Tate, (best known for projects such as Jurgen Vries the opera song, Angelic and DT8). After its early beginnings with releases such as Darren Tate vs Jono Grant ŒLet The Light Shine In¹ and Kota ŒWaiting¹ It seem Mr Tate is set on world domination this year with his own productions and seems to be snapping up all the big trancers for his own label. With its summer relaunch, Mondo has aquired the production talents of many of key producers from around the world, such as Primer Mover/Revolution 9, JFK, Mono(Airbase), Hemstock and Jennings, Jono Grant amongst many others. And with a fan base that spans the globe, which includes some of the worlds leading DJs, Mondo is destined to become one of Europes leading trance labels.
8 Tunes Not to Miss this month There¹s so many great new tunes and remixes out there at the moment it would be a crime not to mention all of them. Also ones to watch out for are DP ³Infectious² on Alpha magic and their new mix of Lost Tribes ³Possessed², the Bollywood trancer Gurjit Delay¹s ³Meri Jaan² on Mondo, BossaNova¹s ³Stonecold² on Ferry Corsten¹s Tsunami label, Benni Benassi¹s ³Love is gonna Save us² on Data, DJ Scandy¹s Electro stomper ³Split² and of course the the new Agnelli and Nelson mix of Li Kwan¹s classic ³Point Zero². With this being just the tip of the ice berg this is shaping up to be one of the best months for Trance in a long time. You can listen to all of the tunes mentioned ³in the mix² at www.mattdarey.com.
The Green martian Ladies and Gentlemen (Banshee) The martians have landed and welcome you to there world of Green lazers and pill munching alien monsters waving light sabres. Ladies and Gentlemen, This one rocks and is destined to score high octane marks with the hard trance floors. Dark and pumping in the typical GM style with spooky melodies and rolling basslines. Scarey and havin it at the same time. 5/5
Terry Bones Feat Fred Baker Introspection (Vandit) After the underground success of Fred Baker v¹s Mr Sam ³Forever Waiting² last summer he teams up with Mr Bones to create another piece of classic mysterious trance. Soul stirring melodies that will send shivers down your spine on the dancefloor and euphoric to the last beat and one to watch out for along with tracks from Nu NRG and G & M Project also on Paul Van Dyk¹s Vandit label. 4/5
Primer Indulge (Mondo/Progrez) Another new signing from this months label of the moment on Mondo records. Instrumental Trance at its best with some very classy production from the Euro trancer¹s Airwave. Chunky beats and basslines with one massive filter synth breakdown to die for. 5/5
Solid Globe - Sahara (Fundamental) SG return with there biggest tune yet. Fusing acoustic guitars and strange synths with classic trance this one stands out against most of the other trance tunes this month. Still delivering a massive build which is obligatory for dancefloor success, Sahara is up there with the best of this years uplifting tunes. 5/5
DT8 Take my Hand (Mondo/ Sony) With the major relaunch of his label Mondo, 2004 looks to be yet another massive year for Darren Tate of Opera Song and Angelic fame. Amongst the many gems up his sleeve revealed at Midem this year this is probably the best candidate for a crossover. Classically composed strings form the backdrop to a anthemic vocal from Andrea Britton from Oxygen Am I On Your Mind. This cover version from Dido¹s ³No Angel² album is gonna rock trancefloors all over the globe in the coming months. 5/5
NRC Fragile (W/L) Vocalist Roberta Childs adds a touch of magic to this classic vocal trancer with an infectious melody. By fusing elements from 80¹s band Japan¹ s ³Quiet Life² its bound to be a winner with those older DJ¹s now at the helm of the big radio networks. The breakdown brings you lush vocals, classical guitars and break beats building towards that inevitable moment where it kicks in like all classic trance tunes. Definitely a tune that shows the classic trance formula still works if with a good song behind it. 5/5
Benjamin Bates - Lost Myself (ID&T) Driving synths and grooved up beats are the order of the day for Mr bates with a Hardfloor trance tune that ignites like rocket fuel. With an electro feel your hypnotised all the way to the breakdown, then its payback time as it crashes in for some more funked up electro action. 4/5
DJ Scott Project Feelin me (overdose) Dj Scott returns with yet another full on hard trance monster. Kicking off with a pumped up Benni Benassi influenced groove the track spirals towards a major hands in the air moment of dark synths breaking out into full on classic trance synths and diva vocal samples. As ever with Mr Scott it kicks in like a ton of TNT for some major glow stick action. Destined to energise even the most burned out trance kid at 7am on a Sunday morning. 4/5
Primer Indulge (Mondo/Progrez) Another new signing from this months label of the moment on Mondo records. Instrumental Trance at its best with some very classy production from the Euro trancer¹s DJ Danjo & Rob Styles. Chunky beats and basslines with one massive filter synth breakdown to die for. 5/5
