Markus Schulz starts us off with the Essentials! Now that Winter Music Conference is over, Markus' record crate is bursting with phat new choons! Be sure to tune in to the first hour to catch us all that is going to be hot during the upcoming Spring months!
Solarstone joins the Broadcast for the first time! Rich Mowatt and Andy Bury are Solarstone - The hyper-versatile UK based production duo who record and produce under many aliases, including Z2 and Liquid State. Their current musical styles range from deep-progressive house to 'blissed-out music for the chilled generation', (depending on what mood they're in at the time) though at present they are perhaps best known for producing melodic 'quality-trance' (as they like to put it) since the release of their most famous singles to date: 'Seven Cities' and 'Solarcoaster' To support all the new releases, including the re-release of 'Seven Cities' on Lost Language and the equally in demand 'Solarcoaster', Solarstone have decided to dust down their headphones, record boxes and cds, and get out on the road with a series of worldwide DJ appearances (see DJ section for regular updates), starting with Gatecrasher in Sheffield to rave reviews The next series of tunes to come from the DeepBlue stable includes Solarstone "Release", another collaboration- 'Solarstone vs Sirocco "Destination", and the long awaited project with Gatecrasher's own Scott Bond resulting in 'Third Earth' - currently doing the business in every trance loving territory worldwide.
It's a career littered with chance meetings, unbelievable highs and some crushing disappointments, but the collective of brilliant musicians and vocalists they have around them always ensures they deliver the goods. The scene has undergone some strange mutations over the past few years, but it always returns to where it began... Grooves, Melody and Emotion- without which there would be no dance music scene, and there would be no Solarstone.
DJ Precision rejoins the Broadcast! Pascal Van Eijk aka DJ Precision has been spinning records since the age of 17, although it wasn't until early 2002 that his international breakthrough came. Promos for the 'DJ Albert vs. Precision - Say Yes' track were given out to a select few DJs. It became an instant hit receiving massive support from the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Judge Jules, Paul Van Dyk and Ferry Corsten and was featured in DJ Tiesto's Radio 1 Essential Mix broadcast.
The follow up track was a remix of Viframa - Cristalle which again received support from many of the world's best trance DJs and was named 'Tune of the week' by Armin Van Buuren on his ID&T radio show. Since then, Precision has gone from strength to strength, completing remix work for Talla 2XLC and Neo & Farina. Both tracks have received airplay from the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Blank & Jones and Marco V. Precision recently established his own record label - Somatic Sense Recordings, which has seen 4 huge releases so far generating supported from many of the top trance DJs around.
As a DJ, Precision is resident at the legendary Xtra Large Club in Amsterdam and FFM in Frankfurt, Germany where he can be seen spinning regularly alongside many of the best DJs in the world. His international bookings have seen him rock clubs in Canada, Germany and Spain whilst making guest appearances at various festivals including Mysteryland and Extrema Outdoor in his home country of Holland.
All in all, DJ Precision is a true representative of the new Dutch trance sounds and definitely one to watch out for in the near future.
G Pal makes his return to the Broadcast! George Pallikaris (a.k.a. G-PAL) was born in Thessaloniki, the largest city in Northern Greece. G-Pal's Swift Records label went from strength to strength over the last 12 months and now as we start off a new year, it looks as though this trend is going to continue as G-Pal returns with one of his most anticipated tracks of recent times, 'Ophra'. Having first appeared at 2003's Winter Music Conference in Miami, this track has become much sought after, but now it's here, with an alternative remix from G-Pal as well. With the launch of Swift Records, GPal had pushed the envelope a little farther. With a slew of remixes and original productions under his belt as well as a growing international following, G Pal is defiantly a dj for 2004 and beyond.
