Paul Van Dyk, who grew up under East Germany's communist regime, expressed his feelings on the partnership, "I am very excited to be part of the 'Rock the Vote 'campaign 2004. Since I grew up behind the Iron Curtain I know what it is like to live without the option to vote. The freedom to make a choice is the basic principle of our democratic world. I hope through my involvement to encourage as many people as possible to register to vote in the 2004 presidential election."
The Rock the Vote/Paul Van Dyk tour kicks off on April 14 in Atlanta and will circle through the country delivering the message of of voter empowerment to the legions of electronic music fans across the country. Rock the Vote Community Street Team members will be on hand to register voters and sell the newly unveiled tour t-shirts, the proceeds from which go to Rock the Vote.
