© Provided by GUSteve Lawler is a fan favorite but when asked about what he had in store for System, he replied "Wait and find out", What did he mean by that? Read on and find out.

System Soundbar is a favorite club among Toronto residents because of the small nature of the club compared to the guverment/koolhaus. System Soundbar celebrated 5 years and before they had their celebration, they closed the club down for a while to redo the entire place and make it more like a club than a sketchy basement. Steve Lawler is a favorite among Toronto's club going population and when we heard that he was coming back for an extended set, we could not miss it. So I was waiting in line around 10pm and I see this little short guy walk out of system and I realize it was Steve Lawler, I asked him what do you have in store for us, he said "Wait and find out" but he did add that he would play as long as he could.

So Matt Coleridge opened with a fierce opening set, he does not get enough praise. So around 1:10am, Steve Lawler appears in the shadows then waves and disappears, the man likes to make an enterance. So about 20 minutes later, Steve Lawler walks on and the crowd erupts. Now most people view Steve Lawler as solely "A boring tribal dj" but that's not the case when he plays Toronto. Lawler started off with a special introduction that he had made, using a few acapellas in this introduction (which is really his trademark). Lawler proceeded to play banging house for the first while, adding the odd tribal song then he went to what he loves the most, nasty vocal tunes and he threw a few in but he played a lot of house and it was not dull house either. Lawler threw in tunes like Bucci Bag - Lemonade and Ride. He said he would play 5 hours but ended up playing from 1:30am-8am, I ducked out at 6am but still it was worth the money. In Toronto, you can't get 6.5 hrs for 20 bucks of any deejay.

Steve Lawler is a true unsung hero because he deeply cares about his job and deeply cares about giving the fans what they want and playing till they basically kicked him off. That is a true dj and it was a remarkable evening with a remarkable dj at a remarkable club. Legendary night 10/10
