Liquid's latest offering is called 'Nocturnal Delight' and it is produced by none other than Matt Darey. This one has already been played by Armin Van Buuren in his weekly ASOT show, so the initial outlook is good...
Matt Darey has a somewhat vast, least not impressive, track record (no pun intended!) with regards to trance. With past tracks such as Voice Of An Angel and Electrobuzz, an extreme amount of remix work and appearances mixing albums such as some of the Euphoria series theres not much he hasn't seen or done. This CDR promo contains one mix of 'Nocturnal Delight' - the Sandler Remix.
:: Matt Darey - Nocturnal Delight :: Liquid Promo :: LQ041
1: Sandler Remix This track begins with restraint - a bass muted loop of a light beat, simple percussion and some ambience wavering in the background. A full on meaty kick soon steps in and soon after that a nice, deep and driving bassline takes the reigns. This method of continued increasing layering is used further still as a quite potent trancey synth echoes out a few notes periodically, over the top of the ambient backing. This leads into the first breakdown, which consists initially of ambience and then a muffled synth playing a more developed melody. This synth is slowly filtered in and then transforms with a sudden surge into an awesome trance synth. This synth feels huge and has a very rounded and soft sound, carrying power and epicness on every note - fabulous. The hairs on the back of your neck? Standing to attention they will be. The beat comes back in and the percussion follows in layers as the track moves on, driven all the time by this superb sounding synth playing a fairly simple but absolutely dreamy melody. There is a rest section in the middle of the track where the synth drops off and is replaced by the echoing synth heard at the beginning. This again leads to a breakdown very similar to the first, where the synth comes in with a powerful surge, immersing you into a heavenly trance sound. This leads into the final section of the track, featuring the full on synth, beat percussion and bass which all merge wonderfully together. To finish, the synth is dropped and the bassline drives you onward to the end of the track, cushioned with a little ambience. Fantastic!
Conclusion:
The Sandler Remix of Matt Darey's 'Nocturnal Delight' is absolutely superb! To begin, it sounds like your average trance track, but you know this is something special when the awesome synth erupts during the breakdown. This glorious sound is filled with power and a sense of real epicness while still retaining that uplifting sensation that trance knows best. This is an excellent track!
