Five AM are back… and back in style!! Now being ran by Alexis (of the original Five AM team), Gareth Emery (GTR) and Brisky (Chemical Records), this is a welcome return to the industry from this excellent label. They needed a big tune to kick start their reputation and they have found that in GTR!!!
Original Mix: Building up with nice percussion, the track soon takes shape with a series of stabby synths. The notation of these is very similar to the old classic: Felix – Don’t You Want Me. This is not a bad thing by any stretch and it works brilliantly here. This leads us into the break where a new bunch of syth stabs take hold. These work well by giving the track a driving yet minimally sound. When the kick comes back we’re treated to some fine GTR trance!!! The track continues through with a minimally feel yet still being extremely catchy.
Gareth Emery Remix: Not too dissimilar from the Original, the remix stays on the same general lines but with a more pumping pace. For me this is the stronger mix with a more ‘full-on’ feel to it. The track builds better and works to better effect. The breakdown injects an extra level to the track which really ignites the dancefloor! The track never really drops away much after the break and keeps up the pace through to the end. Excellent stuff!!!
Conclusion:
GTR is gaining a great deal of respect in the music industry with his productions and DJing and this track does him great justice. Mistral was always going to be difficult to follow and although this isn’t quite what Mistral was, it is still a fantastic track. Typical GTR sounds coming through make this a must have purchase!!
