Huge hard trance masters Alphazone are back on Waterworld with their latest slice of dancefloor action! Does their new track 'Revelation' follow in the footsteps of Alphazones previous successes...?
The names behind Alphazone are the German duo Alex Zwarg and Arne Reichelt. They have an impressive release history with tracks such as 'Stay' and 'Rockin' and have done a whole host of quality remixes such as the Alphazone remixes of Saltwater - The Legacy and the awesome classic DJ Kim - Jetlag. 'Revelation' is no exception, its time for more hard trance from Alphazone.
:: Alphazone - Revelation :: Waterworld :: DMDWWR016
1) Original Mix The Original Mix begins deceptively with a muted beat and some easy going percussion. Very soon though a full on heavy kick is introduced along with a gritty, driving bassline and more percussion. Now you start to feel the true pace of the track. During the initial stages, you hear a few subtle elements blend into the track - there is an ambient synth playing a simple melody along with another synth which sounds a little like an electric guitar playing an acidy sounding sequence in true Alphazone style. All of this is soon overwhelmed by a massive sounding, snappy trance synth which plays a simple melody and leads you into the breakdown. Now, all is silent until the synth comes back in playing a new melody. Now its all about the build up - the synth gains more and more power, soaring above the backing chords and rolling snares until the track drops back in, playing out the strong and uplifting melody over the constant feel of bass and continuous push of the drums. There is a short rest period where the simple synth melody fades in again and the track breaks into one more final full on main section of hard trance power before easing its way slowly to a close.
2) Phalanx Remix The Phalanx Remix plays a little slower than the Original Mix. It has a deeper and more gutsy sounding bassline which is emphasised through the jittery way in which it is played. The track builds in a similar way to the original - big trance synths fade in with simple melodies backed up with some sustained highly pitched chords. The first breakdown plays on the main melody but doesn't let it go all the way, instead the track builds right up dramatically and drops into a section featuring a different and extended version of the main 'Revelation' melody. It is more of a melody than a big trance hook and is a bit more uplifting due to the continuous variation. Much like the original, there is a quieter section which leads into a break and build up into the final main section of hard trance energy.
Conclusion:
'Revelation' is another fine example of banging hard trance from Alphazone. The two mixes are two different versions of exactly the same flavour - you just need to decide if you want the raw power of the original or the more melodic sound of the Phalanx Remix. Either way, you have two fine mixes of a fine piece of hard trance as only Alphazone know how.
