The Bass Enchanters are a new collaboration between Factoria and Oceanforce, both who have good releases out already, This is their first release together and appears along with a remix from the highly regarded Mat Silver & Tony Burt team!
Original Mix
From the go we have a bassline & kick combination, with the hi-hats soon making a louder appearance with both open & closed ones soon driving us on. More clever percussive work takes us forwards, into the start as we progress into the melody, along with a warm pad, and soon the kick returns to elevate us forwards. The main thing I think you'll find here is the warmness of the sounds, easy on the ears and again very summery. A Filter is used to present the main section, as it comes in a little bit at a time, building into a fast ending, with the melody also a fast progression of notes, allowing this to do the job very well. The melody section is broken up by the Kick & Bass section, and returns later on for a second breakdown, nothing too major, but effective enough in moving the track forwards. This will definitely appeal to people who like the ASOT radio show with Armin Van Buuren, as a melodic gentle piece, which will further elevate the reputation of these producers.
Mat Silver vs Tony Burt Remix
When a German producer meets a Kiwi, you might think it to be a weird combination, but it has proved to be highly successful for this duo, who are now regarded as some of the most established names, with an adaptable style. The percussive work early on reminds me faintly of that used in Rising Star - Touch me, a compliment I hope! Moving onto the bassline, very low but add to that the good range of fx & percs and it adds to both a high and low end balance. The Melody seems more intricate here, with a combination of a lovely oriental sounding synth and a more trancey one allowing it to be very sophisticated. As we move away from the kick, we are ready for a beautiful string, held on for a long time, slowly changing through the chords, and the first of the leads softly caresses this, gaining in intricacy as we go. Getting slightly fatter for the second coming, it's still wonderfully soft and epic. With plenty of variation as the tune goes on, it helps to make it a very good 8 minutes and of your listening time, keeping me very interested throughout.
Conclusion:
A great release here, with the Remix being my personal favourite, clinging to my ears straight away to the point where I'm listening to it 3 or 4 times an hour already! Plenty of potential in the duo of the Bass Enchanters Also, a strong release all round, sure to attract much praise.
