Well here we have the birth of the new record label “Adjusted” run by Steve Helstrip aka The Thrillseekers with a track by Steve himself entitled “The Thrillseekers – New Life”. It has been 2 years since the last release by Steve but what this track proves is that the magic is still there and as strong as ever!
Original Mix
From the first kick, this track oozes Thrillseekers! With simple but massively effective percussion, the track layers up as the growing bass line takes over. Gradually the lead comes in with subtle pads swelling in the background. Into the breakdown and the lead grows in size helped along by a series of synth notes. As the break down grows even more, the keys change and everything sits in place perfectly. A rolling kick introduces the track back into full flow where the synths build complimenting each other perfectly! Here we are treated to some fantastic Trance that takes the listener on a journey!! The 2nd break again grows with power till it thrashes back in with the infectious lead sound!! This progresses on for a while till the track slows down at the end!!
Lange Remix
Straight away the bass line is very prominent from the off in this mix as the percussion builds with a series of fx and sounds. From early on, the mix has you hooked with the eerie sounding female-vocal-like pad growing and moving in the background! A darker sound over all is incorporated by Lange who works it perfectly. A snippit of the lead is used in a big powerful way to indicate what is coming! Again the lead grows in size and power towards the breakdown. Still keeping the darker, driving feel to it, the breakdown begins with a swirling effect before the female-vocal-like pad comes in again. The lead starts to overlap the pads in almost a subtle way initially before it takes over. The percussion starts to build up as we are thrown back into the bulk of it with the still driving sounds! From here the mix pulses along till near the end where it tones down for the lead out!
Conclusion:
Lange turns in an excellent moody, darker mix here which works very well but for me personally, it’s the Original that presses all the right buttons. Steve is back here with a fantastic tune which is sure to push his label to the front of everyone’s mind! Great stuff!
