Sundawner - Krystal Dreams [Monster Records]

Sundawner is better known in the industry at the minute as Cosmicman or Matti Laamanen. Here we have his latest track on the new label – Monster Records. Well Matti is renowned for his great tracks... and this is no exception!

Marcus L Remix

A nice solid kick starts the track off with many fx swirling around alongside the growing bass line and percussion. Eerie pads swell and move as the track gathers momentum before the lead first starts to fade in. As the kick filters out, we are introduced to a mini-break which gives us an exciting taster of what is to come! The initial lead gradually grows in strength as the track drives along before the first key changes, which come in at the perfect time to get the track going even more. Soon after this we drop into the breakdown with more lush pads, and as the new, more powerful lead builds, the rolling kick comes and slams the track back into full flow! Here the lead carries the track along perfectly constantly being complemented by the pads, percussion and other fx. As the track drops down a notch, we plod along for a while before the second breakdown looms with more pads and the powerful lead once again! After the break we are back in full flow to the energy filled bulk of the track. This carries through till near the end where we finish on some nice instrumental sounds!

Cosmicman Mix

This mix begins with a simple kick and bass with growing percussion as the track progresses. An off beat kick is used periodically which actually works very well in keeping the track rolling! A lead sound come in pretty early and picks up the pace a notch! The first breakdown comes in early with a growing lead which oozes power!! The kick come almost straight back in and sets the track off! More synths layer up giving the track a real ‘nice’ feel to it! There is a whole sort of summer feel to this mix perhaps due to its bouncy bassline!? The track paces along at a good level always keeping the listener interested with changes in direction at regular intervals! The second breakdown is pretty similar to the first except for being slightly longer. After this, the track kicks back in and flies along to the end!

Conclusion:
Another great release from Matti but I personally feel that the remix beats the original here! Marcus L turns in a quality trancer that fits perfectly into any of the peak-time sets at the super clubs around the world! A great start also for Monster Tunes…looking forward to the next one!!!
