Well Equilibrium are certainly firing the tunes out at the minute!! With many great releases under the belt they unleash the latest instalment in the form of Forever!Allready with support from the huge Paul Van Dyk, this looks like it’s gonna be another corker!
GTR Remix
Starting with a solid kick and varied percussion, the mix soon builds using a series of fx and vocal snippits. A heavy bass line soon overlaps the initial one and really starts to grow something special. As the percussion layers up, GTR’s trademark sounds push through in excellent style! Into the breakdown and a heavy pad is complimented by the strong lead. As the bass line comes back in, the track builds and slams in with great style. Simple, yet hugely catchy, the lead carries the track forward in solid fashion! After a period of this, we drop into a simple kick and percussion before the synths again grow and layer up. The second breakdown comes in with much more power and energy than the first and keeps the level cranked right up! The kick comes back in during the break to great effect and carries the track through till the end!
John O’Callaghan Remix
A nice minimal start on this mix soon grows and builds up with a powerful bass-line and snippits of the forthcoming vocal. As we cut down to a simple kick and bass, the haunting vocal slides into the track beautifully. The vocal is used to great effect on this mix and the track sits perfectly around it. Into the break and we have some lush powerful pads that swell and bulge with the vocal sitting amongst them well. As this grows, a minimal lead comes in, the snares grow, and the tracks flies along brilliantly! The kick and bass are solid throughout this mix and really put a lot of power into the whole track. The vocals are used perfectly through till the end of the track where every thing gradually fades down.
Conclusion:
2 great mixes here which both sound really different. GTR has steered away from the vocals and made a fantastic instrumental track, whereas John has used them to maximum effect! A great package all round!
