The Schwarz brothers, men of the moment! 'Blow' Taken from their Four Music's 'fun' compilation comes along with an ass-kickin dub-mix, the brothers did especially for Gigolo
The gigolo label has become synonymous with the highest quality electro/techno releases and this one from this up and coming act is no exception.
Original
There is a short intro, which sounds like it's sampling a New York street scene the a male vocal. When the beat kicks in it is accompanied by a typical high pitched electro sounding riff. After about 16 beats the vocal returns and stays with us throughout the song (and it doesn't get on your nerves)!! After a while the song becomes a lot deeper until it's just a steady beat with vocal, then it comes the breakdown, which is a real 'hands in the air affair'. The original electro sound comes back in and is repeated over a few times, there's a short vocal sample again and were right back into the beats. The tune carries on with it eventually following the same pattern as the first half of the tune until we are left with just a beat, deep electro sounds and voice sample.
Dub Mix
With this mix it starts exactly the same, but we are treating to a breakbeat, then we go into the meat of the tune. It's a steady simple beat, almost housey in style and then after about 32-beats we are greeted with a much deeper riff, but just as pleasing, which is done in the same pattern as the original and although this is "dub" mix we do have the odd vocal sample now and again. They continue to add layer upon layer of electro sounds to this mix until we eventually go into a breakdown where it all becomes a bit crazy, with beats flying at you from all angle's. It's that deep bassy riff again that we encountered at the start of the tune that plays thru the breakdown. A swift "beat" vocal and surprise, surprise, in comes the beat. As the tune continues you think it's going to play out and end rather flat, but nearing the end there is a huge breakdown, which as in the first mix, is almost euphoric. After this, there is the standard beat coming back in with this crazy electro riff, it goes on just long enough for the crowd to enjoy it and the DJ to mix out of it.
Conclusion:
The brothers schwarz very rarely make a bad record and in my opinion this one is no exception. This tune, if delivered at the right time would have massive capabilities for crowd pleasing. I myself will be using it for a few weeks to come and I'm sure when released many a DJ will be the same. Tiefschwarz are definaletley a name to look out for, especially if all their productions mirror the quality of this one.
