Fresh out in Holland this week comes Karada's 'Il Futuro' on the KYR Records Holland imprint. This one from the Belgium based producer has been receiving good support from the likes of Marco V, DJ Precision and DJ Ton T.B., among others, so far...
Karada is made up of the Belgium duo Geert Thirry and Aksel Brian. Karada are best known from their massive track, 'Last Flight', released on the Lost Language imprint back in July last year. Their new track, 'Il Futuro', promises to be more quality hard/tech trance, as the list of supporting DJs suggests. Also, we are told to expect more from Karada later on in the year!
The 'Il Futuro' vinyl holds two mixes - the Original Mix and a Sunday Morning Mix...
:: Karada - Il Futuro :: KYR Holland :: KYR 325
A) Original Mix The Original Mix of 'Il Futuro' begins with a thick beat and minimal percussion. Very soon, a gutsy, deep and gurgling bassline kicks in, backed with some more crisp percussion. A short break is used to cut the beat and bring in some ambient synth pads, which continue to float across to track once the beat resumes. The pads weave their way through the track and build up towards the break where everything but the pads are dropped and the main hook/melody makes a long and gradual, building appearance. The lead synth is crisp and trancey when in full force and it plays a snappy melody, stabbing individual notes which form a chord progression. The lead synth subsides and the track heads towards another short break, during which the lead synth builds up again and after which the track and the melody drop back in to play out the final main section. From the start, the whole track builds towards the main melody, driven strongly by the deep and driving bassline. The melody itself carries a great feeling of determination - that sought after characteristic that all good hard/tech trance productions need to achieve - making 'Il Futuro' an excellent track to play. This one should cause some action on the dancefloor.
B) Sunday Morning Mix The Sunday Morning Mix is similar to the Original, but it also has a lot of noticeable key differences. It has a very immediate beginning - a strong beat with percussion and a deep, thick bassline which sounds as if it is played by a bass guitar. From the first short break, some very subtle ambience builds up, along with some small teasing snippets of the melody. The synth responsible for the melody has a much softer and distant sound than in the Original Mix. It has a lot more reverb - as does the entire track, giving a 'live' kind of effect to the whole thing. The overall feel that the track produces is more distant and slightly uplifted - a trancier take on the hard/tech trance vibe that 'Il Futuro' takes on.
Conclusion:
Karada's 'Il Futuro' is a quality track! The instruments blend and work well together, creating a driving and determined hard/tech trancer with a wonderful melodic touch. The appropriately named Sunday Morning Mix is just as good, providing a variation with its own genre. Two great mixes of an equally good track!
