Jeff Bennett is a man who has been around for a long time, he is up to new things and find out more about this amazing producer and what's up with him!
Jeff Bennett is the new name of a Polish born, Swedish resident named Michel Mirecki (now Jeff Bennett). He has been making music since 1992 and been doing many things musically in Sweden for many years. He has been releasing records on a variety of labels over the years, mostly house records but some techno and some experimental. Although he has been making music since 1992, his first release did not come till 1998. Since then, everything has looked up for him, he has started to get more and more deejay gigs and people are finally catching his work. He did a massive unreleased remix of a U2 tune that Sander Kleinenberg hammered at his Cream October 2003 set. i:Vibes.nu will be checking in with Jeff, every so often to see what's he up to.
So here is July 2004 update with Jeff Bennett,
His latest release is a new 12" on the Belgian label of Hi-Phen the EP name is "Sitting bull" and includes a "Mugwump" remix.
Title will be Jeff Bennett : Sitting Bull : Hi phen : MD-0101 : 12" www.hi-phen.com
Later this month, his first downbeat/lounge record will be released on the Swedish label Deeplay Music, Its a two tracker and stylewise its a blend between Gotan Project and Theivery Corporation. It is also a preview from his upcoming Lounge album to be released on the same label in September.
Titled - Jeff Bennett's Lounge Experience : There are many things : Deeplay Music : TBA : 10" www.deeplaymusic.com
In August his new label "Kung Fu Dub rec" will be started with some nice dubby tech house records on the release schedule, and it will be a digital label only, with distribution based on websites like: www.nufonix.com, www.beatport.com, etc etc
Check out this great artist/producer/deejay/label owner because he has been putting out quality stuff for many years and probably many more years to come.
