July has been a sad month for the music community and we regret to have to announce the passing of an artist, the man known as Starkid has passed away at the age of 18. Read on for the details
Adam Spears was unknown to a lot of you but most of you knew him as the guy behind Starkid - Crayons, that was used on Global Underground 024 CD 2 - Nick Warren in Iceland. These articles are never easy to put out to the i:Vibes community and the music community but it has to be done, even thought the shock is immeasurable. The following is what was reported first on the Global Underground's Messageboard

I have the unfortunate task to inform you all that Adam Spears (Starkid) has tragically passed away this Friday, July 30th in Houston Texas at the young age of 18.
Many will remember Adam for his music on labels such as Looq, 3Beat Breaks, and for the track 'Crayons' on Release Records. The original 'Crayons' was, without a doubt, Adam's biggest record (& first) he made. The 'Crayons 2004' re-release will still go ahead soon as a tribute to Adam & in addition to this, Release Records will be releasing a single dedicated to Adam with the profits going to a charity determined by the Spears family
(originally posted by Progsounds on the GU Board)
All of the crew at i:Vibes.nu wish to extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and the people who's lives he touched in his short time on earth. This is the second sad event for the music community this month, as you will remember that Critical 7 died in a Car Accident earlier this month. Feel free to post your thoughts about this in the forums. This really shows how precious life is and how easily it can be taken away and how we need to live every single day to the fullest.
Below is the only interview that i:Vibes.nu did with Adam, in 2003

Rest in Peace Adam
