A new label is once again upon us, this time it is Surface Recordings, which is a sub-label of the hugely popular ATCR imprint!
The sub label will be co-run by ATCR’s Tim Stark and 21-year old Swede Ralf Elfving. Ralf, who also owns the global trance community Trance.nu, has over the past years helped numerous hobby producers score contracts with some of the most influental labels on the scene. Anjunabeats, Lost Language, Afterglow, Discover, Joof Recordings, Duty Free and Kompressed are just a few of those that have been served hot hits on a silver plate!
The Surface Recordings concept first started taking shape late 2003 after ATCR had secured Witness of Wonder’s debut single ‘Emotion In Motion’ through Ralf’s Sacred Sounds Promotions project. Since then the gossip has been dwelling under the surface while Tim and Ralf carefully worked on the new sub-label. With Tim’s spot-on A&R-skills and Ralf’s extensive net of talented producers the new imprint promises a wide range of high-quality releases from new and exciting names.
Surface Recordings sees its launch with ‘First Horizon’, produced by Octagen vs. Progresia. Behind the act stand Dutch Paul Moelands and Swedish Marcus Shözzow, two youngsters that despite their age are well known to trance punters around the world. The debut release is a melodic and driving hybrid that combines the best of its beautiful melody and the trancey atmosphere. To complete the package we’ve called in another rising talent that have rocketed the trance scene of lately, Menno de Jong, to deliver a thrilling remix.
Surface will be distributed through Amato Distribution and ‘First Horizon’ is due for full release on the 11th of October.
