Friday the 17th of September sees another night of banging uplifting trance from Knowwhere at London’s Fridge. Following on from one of the most spectacular performances ever at Junes Knowwhere, Agnelli & Nelson are back, alongside Matt Hardwick, Riley & Durrant and Knowwhere resident Anthony Dean. I’ll be back next month @ Knowwhere for the 3rd birthday party on 15th October which is set to be their biggest night yet since its launch in May. Track Reviews
Ernesto & Bastian - Darkside Of The Moon (ID&T) 5/5
I know these guys have been around for a while now but this is the first track that has really caught my attention big time. Not your typical trancer and sounding like a big crossover tune. If you think Motorcycle Vs. Grace’s ‘Not Over Yet’ you’ll get a good idea of what you’re in for. It kind of chugs along with chunky drums and big synth riffs but what really makes it massive is the song. Probably the best thing I’ve heard from the ID&T label for a long long time.

Perry O’ Neil – Wave Force (Armarda) Orig 4/5
Perry O’Neil is one of the many artists now being snapped up by Armin Van Buuren’s Label Armarda. Wave Force is on more of a progressive trance tip and sounds like a remix of a Depesh Mode track with a distorted guitar like lead riff and tribal influenced groove. If you liked tracks like Condor – Velvet Dreams and all those other Moody Euphoric trancers you’ll love it. Not one to “Av it” to in a big way cause its a bit more subtle, minimal and classy and for the more sophisticated raver. As for Pez, definitely someone to keep an eye on in the coming months.

Dogzilla - Your Eyes (Maelstrom) Orig 5/5
Ever since the first Dogzilla track arrived on my doorstep almost a couple of years ago I’ve been a massive fan. Fusing dark moody atmospheres with euphoric riffs is their speciality. In between singles they brought us the massive remix of Polaroid’s “So Damm Beautiful” and more recently Magnolia’s “So Vein”. This kind of follows on where they left of with the self titled debut single “Dogzilla” but this time with the male hook line “There’s only one thing that makes me cry.......your eyes”. Reminiscent of Depesh Mode and Front 242 and the like it sets itself apart from the rest of the trancers out there and goes off across the board.

ThrillSeeker – Synaesthesia (Adjusted) Ferry Corsten 5/5
There has been a massive wave of remixed classics of late and this is one of those that cuts through. Originally pioneered by Neo in the UK back in 1999 and now back with an excellent remix from Ferry Corsten with the now trademark sound inherited from Punk and Body rock. Very accessible and massively Euphoric with a breakdown to get those hands in the air

X Cabs – Neuro 04 (WL) Ridler & Headcrusher 5/5
This is an old classic from back in the day around the same time I was releasing my first trance tune Point Zero. It absolutely smashed the dancefloors back then and looks like its on a crash course for the next generation of trance kids. An absolutely blinding remake of the original, with the original driving dark yet melodic sound. The riff filters throughout over pounding drums until the acid storm grand finale in a very hardfloor style. For me this is where trance really began all those years ago and today it still rocks.

Matt Darey Feat. Marcella Woods - Liberation
This was my first UK top 20 hit under my own name back in 1999. “You fly like an angel into the arms of temptation” rings out on the worlds trancefloors once again. On the 1st October the vinyl hits the streets with some excellent remixes from the biggest names in trance as well as some up and coming new talent. Also available as a maxi CD featuring exclusive mixes not available on vinyl from www.dareyproducts.co.uk

Album Of The Month:
Anjunabeats Volume 2 mixed by Above & Beyond
Above and Beyond are havin’ it nowadays with their recent club smash “No One On Earth” remixed by Gabriel & Dresden and a top twenty hit with “Satellite” as well as their ever growing prominence as DJs on the trance scene. This is their second mix album which is a collection of tracks from their own label, Anjunabeats.
It’s a true journey through progressive and more uplifting trance with quite a few tracks I never really noticed until I heard them in the context of the whole mix. Expect some more subtle flavours and sounds from what is a great introduction to the Anjunabeats sound for those who haven’t had the pleasure of seeing them live. It’s out there from the end of September and features many exclusives not yet released.
