The first disc begins starts in a very balearic way, 'Isle Dauphine' opens the cd, with its beautiful summery melody. After a slightly more energetic 2nd track from Sonorous, the cd takes a deep and sexy vibe with Espen & Elusive's 'Poetic Penetration', this cd features the previously unreleased original version of the late Critical 7's 'Lost' and steps up a gear with the almost anthemic 'The World Doesn't Know' from established act, Tilt. Probspot's lush plinky track 'Midnight' calms the cd down once again during the break, but Probspots percussion patterns and bass really keep the flow of the cd well. Leama & Moor make back to back apparences on remix duties for Sonorous and Little Wonder, creating a well bass driven mix for a superbly trancey finish with forthcoming tracks from 8 Wonders and Filo & Peri under their 'Empire State' alias.
The start of the second disc begins in a funky way, 'Drop' by Finnish act U&K kicks off the cd well & carries on from an energetic finish to the 1st cd, but also provides an alternative start to na different listening session. Probspot's unreleased track 'Satisfaction' carries on the energetic funk vibe to the beginning of the disc. The mix is brought sharply back down to earth with a more chilled remix production from Octagen for 'Yellow Moon'. U&K pick up the pace again with their driving funker 'Switchback' and then flows effortlessly into the epic 'Jump The Next Train'. Ozgur Can's 'Irony' can only be descibed as Solar Factor meets Leama & Moor, a deep dark break sandwiched between an enegetic surrounding. Jano Acta's 'Fludent Fiction' provides an ample return to big trance for this cd & take the energy to its peak. Tilt return again with more bass driven, plinky plonkyness with the fantastic 'Goodbye'. The rest of the cd drifts into a generally unimaginative end with some uninspiring trancers that dont really appeal to me.
The third disc features a superb mix from NY studio legend Jay Burnett. Jay pieces together chilled out/exclusive mixes of some past & forthcoming Lost releases aswell as some old Hooj favourites. The disc begins with the classic 'Eugina' from Salt Tank, and moves through effortlessly through blissfull versions of 'Fludent Fiction' & the much hyped ex Hooj track, 'Stage One'. 16B's string happy remix of CM's 'Dream Universe' is a standout track for me, theres no percussion is sight, just a beautiful piece of music.. The beats come back with an Ambient Mix of the forthcoming 'Isle Dauphine' Its refreshing to hear some old classic melodies again but in such a home-friendly mix...'Into The Dawn' 'Sacred Cycles' and Greece '2000' really brought a smile to my face while listening to this cd on my day off ;o) The disc ends with a lovely breaky vocal track from Luminary named 'Dark Eyes' after so much ambient music, its nice to get some vocal in there.
Conclusion:
Overall this release provides a very diverse mix of quality tracks, Lost Language manage to remain at the forefront of the dance scene. The overall package has matured & is much easier to listen to than 'Exhibition' The mixing on all discs is expert & really gets you excited for the future of the label.
