Freeloader make a return to present their second release which is called 'Two Become One'. This slice of tough trance has been played hard by a long list of top jocks, including Marco V, Eddie Halliwell, Armin Van Buuren, Matt Darey, Johan Gielen - the list does go on! Read on to find out more...!
Freeloader is made up by the Norwegian duo Misty, the lead singer, and producer / songwriter Isak Rypdal. Both have pursued their musical interests from young ages and now work together on the Freeloader project.
:: Freeloader - Two Become One :: Big Star Records :: BIGV116
1) Two Become One (DJ Choose & F Comprezzed Mix) As the remix title suggests, this mix is in the style of DJ Choose & F's own track 'Comprezz'. What this means is that you're in for a treat full of rough and gritty basslines, strong and driving percussion and lots of warped and twisted sfx driven melodically inclined sounds. There is a repeated vocal sample utilised a lot during the first few sections of the track. Its been heavily vocoded and is in tune perfectly with the bass, twisted synth elements and the constant synth pads in the background so you end up with a very strongly backed sound emanating from the depths of the track. DJ Choose & F also make good use of high and low pass filters to add some well placed flair to this already quality production.
2) Two Become One (Hepba Remix) The Hepba Remix of 'Two Become One' has a much more traditional hard trance sound. The vocal hasn't been played with in this remix and is sung normally. There is also a simple melody played by a trancey synth, backed by some changing backing chords. The persistent melody and solid kick drive this track well and succeed in keeping it active and lively.
Conclusion:
A quality effort by Freeloader, tranced up by Hepba and reworked magnificently by DJ Choose & F. Their remix is outstanding because of its different, twisted and far out sound, not to mention its constant and driving strength. You should definitely look out for this one.
