With a lot of remixes now floating around of Commander Tom's catchy track 'Attention', here is a pick of some of them given the i:Vibes overview...
:: Commander Tom - Attention (Remixes) :: Pulsive :: PULSIVE021R
1) Attention (Steve Murano Remix) The first thing that hits you about this track is the well known vocal from Novy Vs. Eniac - Superstar. Its rather cut up in the initial section and is mixed up with a whole host of twisted sfx. Soon though, Steve Murano shows the true basis of the track where a really deep, gritty and downright dirty bassline begins to groove away. A nicely contrasted section with some smooth and gentle pads is used to properly introduce the vocals and then the track kicks off again and grooves its way along easily. Also, Murano makes good use of filters to add a little spice every now and again. Overall, a solid piece of techy house - strong and dirty with a catchy little vocal.
2) Attention (Jan Driver Remix) Jan Driver's interpretation of 'Attention' is slower paced with a more softer and subdued set of kicks and bass. There is a rythmic synth hit playing most of the time which has a very retro sound to it and it gives off a relaxed and easy going feeling. Before you realize it, the vocal is back making you twist and groove. Variety is achieved with the use of more housey style sweeping filters and also a delicate little synth which plays a few patterns of notes every now and then, adding to the laid back mood of this track. A much more housey tip, very laid back and easy to listen to.
3) Attention (F&W Remix) F&W make an appearance to add some more techy and trancier flavours to this track! Its classic F&W right off the mark with the familiar rolling and grinding bassline plus a succinct layer of precise percussion. As the track moves on, you hear those cool sounding chord changes that F&W work into all of their productions, giving them all a powerful and intimidating edge. Again the vocal makes a welcome appearance throughout the track and blends in very well with the thick surrounding sounds. As always F&W have produced a strong and driving remix.
Conclusion:
'Attention' comes in many shapes and forms now, but here are the best of the bunch - Steve Murano produces a dirty and twisted house remix, Jan Driver pulls off a more laid back approach and F&W give it their fantastic trademark techy trance sound.
