© Matt DareyAs usual we have Matt Darey's update ready, containing info about his new album, other news and reviews of his favourite tracks this month.

New Matt Darey Album - 'DECADE'

It has now been a decade since Matt Darey's debut release of Li Kwan - Point Zero was embraced by Dj's like Paul Oakenfold as one of his all time biggest tunes and Pete tong who made it one of his first essential new tunes from the trance genre. Now after 10 years of bringing quality trance tunes to clubland, Matt Darey releases his first ever artist album 'Decade'. The album features the best of all the Darey classics under his various pseudonyms from the past, present and future with all his biggest anthems like 'Beautiful', 'Liberation' and 'Lost Tribe Gamemaster' along with the current and future releases on his new label Darey Products such as 'Li Kwan - Point Zero 2004', 'Lost Tribe Possessed' and the first signing and forthcoming release on Matt's new label Darey Products 'Adam White - Ballerina'. The album is seamlessly mixed by Matt in the now generally adopted style of 'In Key' digital mixing that he pioneered on the first Euphoria Albums.

Also included are some of Matt's purist Trance anthems Moody, Nocturnal Delight and From Russia With Love. All the tracks from the album have had the seal of approval from the worlds best DJ's with major support from Tiesto, PVD, Armin, Ferry Corsten, Oakenfold, Sasha, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine, Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, Eddie Halliwell, Johan Gielen, JFK, Scott Bond, Agnelli & Nelson, Lange, Pulsar, Tall Paul and many more.

Matt Darey October News

It's been one of those weekends when I don't know which way is up I'm on a plane back from LA and I've had virtually no sleep for the last 24 hours apart from dropping off for about five mins in between British F**kin Airways Air Shop announcements!!! Well I suppose it was fate cause I'm always the last to hand in my homework.......a couple of BA expresso's and I'm all fired up to review the latest tunes.

I just got my USA visa through at long last so I'm gonna be over there a lot over the coming months. The US scene is so vast its hard to take it all in over single weekends so Im planning an album release and tour for a whole month next Feb/March. The weekend kicked off in Denver at a brand new club and after a few tequilas it was off to LA to play Avalon's notorious After hour Power in Hollywood on the Saturday night. Its always a great party and the best thing about LA is the party just goes on as long as you like. After a very enjoyable set and a few drinks we finished off the weekend at the Spundae boat party on a three story yacht packed with LA's party people taking off for a five hour trip into deep and funky house, they certainly know how to have it! Met a few nutters along the way and the Hollywood babes were seized every opportunity to show off there surgeons works of art to the delight of most of the guys on the trip as everyone got down to the sounds of Deepsky on the decks. The place has a great buzz so I can see the attraction but If you get the chance to go to LA, make sure you pace yourself else you might feel a bit worse for wear on that long trip home.

This month I'll be off to tour Australia for a couple of weeks touring with my new dj mix album called 'Ultimate Trance' on Central station. For more details visit http://www.dareyproducts.co.uk.

Matt Darey October Reviews

As ever too many great tunes to review so also watch out for the subtle sounds of Endre - I Kill For You (Probspot Remix) on Anjunabeats, Li Kwan - Point Zero 2004 (Sensorica mix), Sam sharp - Deep (Orig mix) on Spinnin and the funky little full on trancer Mathy & MVI - AM 2 PM (Alphabet City). Heres the tunes that are doing the damage.

Robert Gitelman - Children Of The Sun (Orig) ID&T
ID&T bring it on with what is already a massive tune for DJ's across the board. Rob's is another product of the growing Israeli Trance scene and has been around for a while now but this is the first track under his own name to really do it for me in a big way. Harder edged trance but with a subtle flavor. Also known for his many other aliases including G&M project who spawned one of my biggest purist trancers this year with 'Sunday Afternoon' and also recently remixed 'Music Man Air' in to one of the summers big tunes in my sets. The distinctive Russian sounding hookline opens up this track into a floorfiller breakdown then chunky beats and driving synths kick in to take any set up to the next level. I could expect no less from a man who has given me many big moments on the Trance floors across the globe.

Tilt - What the world doesn't know (Orig Mix) Lost Language
Tilt have been one of the enduring providers of quality trance from back in the day and they now team up with Andy Moore to create an amazing piece of progressive trance which comes close to the genius of Sasha's Expander. I've been caining it for a few months now in some of the more chilled sets I've been playing and it takes em high every time. Big support from all the big names like Tiesto & PVD but we could expect no less from an off shoot of the legendary Hooj Choons with Ben Lost at the Helm. Check out their new site city16.com for all the latest releases.

Smith & Pledger - Forever (Aspekt) Anjunabeats
Yet another killer from the Anjunabeats label with Smith and Pledger who are normally known for there upbeat & uplifting mixes like Mono - Rise, in fact the original mix is along those lines. The Aspekt remix brings the whole tune down a notch into the realms of classy progressive influenced vocal trance with James Holden riffs and a cool groove. Almost straight away your hit by an amazing vocal breakdown that gets the hands in the air before taking you on a subtle journey into tranzient bliss. A great way to start a set as i've been doing for a while.

Syneregy - Pacific (Flash Brothers) Silver Planet
I've been a massive fan of Flash Brothers for some time now and I was lucky enough to meet up with them out in Ibiza and pick up a few of there latest remixes. The three brothers from Israel definitely have there own distinctive blend of house and trance. Floaty trance riffs, housey beats and electro basslines give this track a very hypnotic and dreamy feel. I find this new style of trance so addictive with a seriously uplifting melody that stirs up the emotion. Very at home on a label renowned for emotive progressive sounds like James Holden's Only You. These guys are on the up & up and there keepin it cool after there recent smash Amen on Direction. Keep 'em comin Bro's.

Madonna - Die another Day (Tiesto Remix) (White Label)
Yep, Mads, the queen of pop graces the trance pages again for the first time since Above and Beyond brought us there first massive remix of Madonna's 'What It Feels Like For A Girl'. This time its the king of trance Tiesto on remix duties of the Massive Film soundtrack with all the elements of the original tune underpinned by Tiestos hard trance beats and basslines. Pick the right moment and you'll have most trancefloors rocking in a poptastic way get it wrong and your scorned forever by trance purists. Haven't dropped it myself yet but I haven't felt the right moment coming on. By nature it will cross over to commercial circuit so expect to hear it in pubs, clubs'n'bars everywhere.

Tranquility Base - Surrender (Filterheadz Mix) Anjunabeats
Always been a massive fan of filterheadz. The perfect blend of housed up percussive beats and funked up basslines with a light sprinkling of trance is the order of the day. With filterheadz on the mix its often likely to bring out the magic in a track. They have certainly mashed this one up into a hypnotic and addictive groove. Theres no big riffs just synth loops and a lush chopped up vocal and a full force driving track that kicks in like freight train. Kind of reminds me of the INXS remix Tall Paul did a couple of years back. Im hooked!!!

Adam White - Ballerina (Orig) Darey Products
Rising star Adam White is now on his third club smash following 'Reverence' on Darren Tates Mondo label and 'White Room' which was a hit with Tiesto, Armin, PVD & Ferry Corsten to name a few. Now he returns with a track that stands out from the rest with a vocal that sounds like Radio Head in Waltz time. Its definitely turning heads and is Armins big tune and also our friends Mixmag tune of the month. You'll either love it or hate it..I love it....I just signed it. Comes in its original lighter trance guise and with a harder edged remix. Judge for yourself and listen in at dareyproducts.co.uk

Electroheadz - Out Of Asia (Kickin Music)
The boys from Ireland are renowned for there electro breaks and off the wall Ideas. The first time I jumped on one of there tracks was last year with the huge and distinctive electro trancer 'No Sleep'. They always bring us tracks that stand out and this time its the reversed chanting vocal and rolling beats across the breakdown that are both trippy and querky. The tracks keeps it just hard enough to keep it real. Already gaining support from the likes of Judge Jules.
