© Taken from Cosmic Gate's websiteThe amazing Cosmic Gate speaks to [i:Vibes] about himself his carrer and his music!...

Tell us a bit about yourself, where you come from and your influences in your music?
Cosmic Gate are 2 persons. Stefan Bossems (DJBossi) and Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall). I (Bossi) was born in Mönchengladbach, Claus was born in Duisburg. We both started beeing dj´s + producers more then 10 years ago; then we met each other maybe 4 years before, after a while we decided to go to the studio together... the first track we did was called the drums and became a big hit in germany...

How do you classify the music you prefer?
our influences in music are very wide, as we like different music styles, and we grew up with music like disco, wave, pop, italo, rap, house, acid...we think it is quite important to have a big background of music, if you want to be a good producer!!!
today the music that we prefer is mostly kind of electronic, but if claus wants to relax, he likes listening to classic music for example...

What are your different aliases, Cosmic Gate etc... and how do you differentiate them from each other?
we do productions as cosmic gate, dj bossi, nic produces also starsplash, greencourt, essential dj team...

Whats your all time favourite track? and your current favourite(s)? and how about your favourite own production?
this always depends on our different moods! my favourite electronic track i think is hardfloor with experienceI on hardhouse records frankfurt...current favourite title i think is ferry corstens new single "punk"...i do not like talking about own favourite productions, but i think the remix of tiestos suburban train is not to bad...

Which producers or DJs do you most admire?
There are quite a few dj´s or producers that we admire, but there is noone special in our eyes to mention more then some other guys...

The ever-reoccuring question: what do you think of mp3s? and how has this developed the trance scene?
this is a question we could discuss about for hours...in one sentence i would say copy cdr´s and mp3 can not be positiv for the music scene, as the number of sales for the cd goes down and down + down...

What do you do other than produce and DJ?
Nothing else what other people do too! spend time with our girls, cinema, sport, relax, sleep...

How does your DJing differ from your productions? If at all, and do you incorporate sounds you hear into the productions you do?
djing depents on the club that we are in!!! we like to play trance in different styles, techno, hardhouse...every night is different, but i think our own productions are the more commercial side in our set...sure djing is very important to the productions we do...
when you see the crows react on different things a song contains, it is normal that you put these informations into your own productions!!!

How do you go about writing songs? Any inspirations? And where do you get the ideas from?
most of the time we do not have real ideas about a song we wanna do!!! we just enter the studio and enjoy ourselves, i think the ideas start comming automaticaly if you love what you are doing...

Are there any plans for another album?
Yes, the new album is already 50 %done, it will be released in germany @ the end of may

How much time do you spend per day/week producing music? and do you prefer producing music or djing?
we go to the studio @ least 4 days a week, between 8 + 10 hours a day...
we love both, producing + djing, but the most wonderful thing is, if you play a song that you produced and the people in the club get menthal about it in that moment!!!

Do you like many other genres of music? Pop, house, techno, club etc..?
Sure! there are many good songs in nearly every genre, the only thing we do not like that much is rock!!!

Well thats it! Thats the Interview with Bossi from Cosmic Gate! Thank you for spending the time with us, [i:Vibes] to answer some of our questions. Perhaps in the future you will be associated with [i:Vibes] in more ways than our interview :)

Thanks!
Steven Hone...
