The latest offering from techy label Reset Records is on the brink of release. The track in question is by E-Craig and is called 'Never Fall In Love Again'...
E-Craig's previous release on the Reset imprint was the massive 'Smoke' which went down well on many dancefloors around the world. His next production on Reset comes in the form of two remixes - a more vocal oriented 212 Mix and a more simple 212 Dub...
:: E-Craig - Never Fall In Love Again :: Reset Records :: RS008
A: 212 Mix 'Never Fall In Love Again' begins with a muted intro section with splashes of echoed male vocals. Slowly, the sound begins to gain some body and the familiar driving E-Craig sound can be heard. A few moments later it kicks off with more strength and you know this is going to be another dark, driving and dancefloor-fuelling track. There are some quieter sections which focus on the filtered and echoed male vocals and always kick nicely back into the deep, driving, gritty bassline and techno-esque percussion. The heaviest vocal presence is in the middle of the track where there is a long and ambient breakdown. Its a nicely contrasted gap to the constant driving energy and the effects imposed on the vocals make them pleasantly different to listen to. The final main section of the track is composed of several smaller parts, each of which bears a different flavour by carrying different and subtle elements. The outro last and lasts as the track dies down and takes its time to fade out into an airy silence. Driving, energetic, fab!
AA: 212 Dub The 212 Dub is structured in the same way as the 212 Mix. The main difference is of course the lack of vocals. Thats not to say there are none whatsoever - at key points during the track there are some cut up and processed vocal samples which sound good and work well. The breakdown is shorter because of a chunk of missing vocals so the whole track is a little shorter than the 212 Mix. Just as strong and driving, but with less vocals for those who prefer it to be so!
Conclusion:
A strong and driving piece of tech trance - just what we'd expect from E-Craig! The only factor to make you decide between mixes is whether you like it vocal or not. The fantastic gritty and driving bassline provides strength and energy to make 'Never Fall In Love Again' a track easily worthy of Reset Records!
