Both sides of this EP will tantelise the funky side of your brain and really have you begging the dj for more every time you hear them...
A1 - Spectral - A very funky tune and straight from the word go you know its not the same old stuff you hear every day. With double beats dropped in, Stabs all over the place and a lovely running bass this is definatly a tune to move your body and get you out of your seat. Lovely drums and crashes take you into a small break before reverse beats then drop you back into the tune. It rolls along nicely so its a great tune to drop samples over the top of or just to groove along to .
B1 - Dj preach remix - Rolling beats and tasty hats kick this remix off with a kick drum gradually working its way in as effects are used to create a lovely build to kick the tune into high gear. Its a very percussion orientated tune with hard beats and stabs of a small vocal dropped in and out. The percussion builds mroe and more till a bass kicks in and takes it a little bit higher. Slap bang in the middle is a breakdown which is again percussion orientated with rolling beats a bass and a building atmosphere before an ever better bass kicks in and the 2nd half of the tune gets going. Its another tune that would benefit from someone who likes to drop samples here and there as its very repetative but still a very good tune.
Conclusion:
I prefer the original version as it keeps on the same level where as the remix doesn't fully know which way to go.
