The Coast 2 Coast and Ocean Lab mix's have been circulating the music world for a while, lets see what the new mixes has to offer!
The second vinyl of this two part vinyl realese have now been made available to the crowd! It contains the Original mix and the Dub mix, and a very nice chilled remix by the act that gave us the smasher, 'Everytime', namely Lustral!
First the original mix! When I first put it on I expected some similarity to the Coast 2 Coast remix I've heard earlier. But oh was I wrong. This remix starts off a little more mellow than the Coast 2 Coast one. Then when I'm floating through the build up, the tune almost gives a little progressive feel which directly sends the shivers down your spine! The vocals enters and they fit very good into the rest of the song. After the vocals have passed, the tune shows the quality of this duo. The main melody starts off and it immediatly gives the song a great atmosphere. I have a feeling this track will be hammered within the scene very soon!
Second the Dub mix! Ofcourse we can all expect how the dub mix might sound after we have heard the original mix. The tune starts off and after the first minute you can hear that ascension made this mix more dubby and dark. As I mentioned above the tune has a small progressive effect on the listener and this is shown very clear in the dub mix. The vocals doesn't enter in the same stage in the track as in the original, but still gives a good trance feel to the rest of the song!
The Lustral Sunset Mix! This is a Chillout more ambient like mix of this song. Lustral do a great job here, choosing to make a chilled mix, because I think it gives the other mix's on this vinyl a better feel. The mix is like a harmonical adventure, the first thing that enters after some strings in the beginning of the song is the vocals, which gives the song a very nice intro. A nice melody later and the mix sounds quite similar to the beginning, which may be a negative point here.
The total view of this vinyl is in my eyes great, because I like the song. If I am the one to tell, then i suggest you buy this vinyl and put it in your recordcase! Its worth to buy, that's a promise I can keep!
"For a Lifetime" - 9/10
