Michael Splint is a busy man these days and he even got a writer to help him write his news because he was so busy. Be prepared for a new look on it!
Welcome to this years final news letter from the Michael Splint camp.
I'm so busy with things these days that I've completely missed out on the update duties - so to all my fans, I apologize (wait a minute, I have fans?). Anyway I figured it was time to spruce up my image, so this is the Andy P facelift.
Now you all remember the song that I did with my wife Sasja called "Secrets Broke My Heart", well it has finally been released! On F&W Records of all places. 2 vinyls with all the mixes from that Airbase guy, DJ Choose and F + Blyant & Tusch. We also added a special mix from a guy from Belgium named Christophe Chantzis (Ian van Dahl to the rest of you). I hope these mixes + the original version will make all the people who have been bugging me to release it, very happy.
Germany wants to be different, so a single vinyl and a CD will be released on Media Records and with the prettiest girl in the world on the cover (yes my wife Sasja). The Spanish have chosen to be different as well and Blanco Y Negro will release their own vinyl!. I can¹t list everyone who is playing it but Judge Jules, Dumonde, Michael Woods, John Askew, Agnelli and Nelson, Dave Pearce, Thrillseekers and a large number of other DJ's play it. If you want the full list of who is playing it, email me and I'll tell you that I'm very grateful to all for the big support!
Dutch News - I got two tracks signed to UDC, a company based in Holland, most known for their Dance Valley events. Promotion should begin in early 2005 and the tracks are called Mount Solar: Bad Lands and Seal Team 5: Innocence is No Excuse. I hope you like the titles and stay tuned for remix updates.
Me, Lars and Michael Parsberg's mix of Corny Pres. Ophelia: Just Tell Me How (Falkon and Michael Parsberg Remix) has finally been released on CD Maxi in Scandinavia. We worked on it this summer and it¹s great to finally see it out. On the cd you will also be able to check out 2 different Falkon Chill Out mixes. It sadly has not been promoed in many other countries, but hopefully that is coming soon. The remix will also be featured on an upcoming compilation mixed by...guess who? Falkon! (more on that further down)
Besides that, we¹re in the studio working our asses off, making new sounds for the global masses. What else is going on? Hmmmm....
My beautiful wife Sasja did the vocals for a new Peter Dafnous track. She also did a previous track with Peter which still isnt out yet...Seems 2005 is gonna be a good year . The Swiss DJ/Producer Koris is currently remixing the first track - Peter Dafnous Feat. Sasja: Say You'll Stay. Should be out on DTF Recordings next year.
Remember me talking about Barbed Wire and Progresia: Ruffed Up! ? Well, it is being remixed by Gate 42 and a UK label has shown incredible interest (The label shall remain nameless for just a little while you should know by now where you can get more info on these things as they develop). I've also had some luck shopping the Falkon and Fairlite: Moonfish track. The very same label has listened closely and has bent over backwards for the Peter Dafnous Remix. Watch this space!
We (Lars and I) also had time to help Danish DJ Kris O'Neil produce his track "Snowflakes". Some major players in the business have already shown interest in Kris' demo and it's gonna be good to get this one finished, we are hoping next week sometime, if we're not being thrown off course by that compilation I mentioned earlier...
Falkon DJ Team will be mixing "Winter Explosion" for S-Records. The release will be early January in Scandinavia (our own backyard), but also in the UK (should be available via netshops as well, should you be interested). It will be 2 CDs of house, dance and trance most tracks I can vouch for, even if a few ultra commercial tracks have found their way onto the cd's . The tracklist will be on my website, as soon as we finalize it (which could take weeks, you know DJ's).
We are still in the process of creating music for our Swedish and Dutch collaborators, a new exciting style of remix has been done for a huge Danish act (gonna be a little while before I say more about that, see if you can figure out for yourself what it is). A remix for a UK DJ is also coming up in a Barbed Wire style and I'm also hooking up with Danish producer Dennis Lee to do a house remix of one of his productions...
Now that I've talked about my producing ventures, I'm going to talk about my Djing exploits. Sadly it has been a very quiet fall, almost too quiet for my liking, I need to get out and play for the "up for it clubbers". Radio gigs are fortunately going good. You can without a doubt catch me on some net station during the month and upcoming is an I:Vibes.nu exclusive mix.
Also be sure to check out my site for the latest top 20 and email me with your thoughts on my productions and anything else you wish to communicate with me.
See you next time Michael Splint
