Joshua Ryan's new Vinyl - Can it compete with his track "Pistolwhip"?
Joshua Ryan's taste for techno began when he discovered the dance track, "Open Up," which was released in 1993 by one of his favorite artists, John Lydon of P.I.L., in collaboration with the band, Leftfield. The breakthrough single inspired Joshua Ryan to leap into the sordid world of electronic music which quickly developed into an addiction. Inspired by epic Platipus tunes, and moody, melancholic brit pop, Joshua salvaged his brother's old Casio CZ-5000 and a Yamaha RX-7 drum machine and began twiddling knobs on his own. For Joshua Ryan, creating trance music was empowering. He compares its ability to generate and convey emotion in a way that parallels the classical works of Beethoven, Bach, and Dvorak. Following in the school of Paul Van Dyk, Josh has developed his production skills and DJ'ing talents simultaneously.
With DJ gigs across the US, he is well on his way to becoming a part of the trance resurgence in America. His first release lauched the Rampant Records sub-label, Slinky, "Hush," backed with "Doinyourheadin." Joshua quickly followed up with "Dontlookback," which received heavy play and charting from the likes of Sasha & Digweed. In 1999, he brought us the summer smash, "Pistolwhip," to Fragrant Music. While the flipside, "Distance," turned some heads, it was "Pistolwhip," that made everyone look up and ask "Damn, who did that track?!" It not only surprised DJ's and dancefloors alike with it's explosive energy, but it also cemented Joshua's position as one of the up and comers in the American trance community.
Along with his busy DJ schedule, he has made time to come out with 3 new remixes this year; Cleveland Lounge's "Drowning" on Moonshine, Ksaut's "Mars Explorer" on Stimuli (Caffeine's trance label), and Matullo's "Big Silver" on N.E.M. Look out for Joshua's new CD on Palm Pictures and the re-release and remix of "Pistolwhip" and "The Chase" on Nulife UK.
But now let's start with his new Vinyl called All / Ison!!!
Joshua Ryan - All
As said before, Joshua Ryan has a fable for Platipus tunes. You can hear in this track light goa and acid elements. The track starts very epic with synths and some drumloops. Percussions are inserted in a great way, makes u be curious to what is coming in the next minutes. At 1:20 the basic baseline starts, developing much more power within the buildup. Acid elements follow leading to the climax at 5:06. What follows is a decent and really SWEET MELODY. If you hear this melody for the first time, it could be that u are getting really great emotions. A breaked drumloop follows leading into a more progressive ending.
If you like "Art of Trance" or other Platipus Artists, uplifting or light progressive tunes, this is your track, Mates!
Joshua Ryan - Ison
The track atarts with breaking loops and a synth- generated very short melody. Baseline starts, opening the main part of the song with a great rhythm and lots of percussions. This one is more progressive tune than the first one. It has some melody parts in it which are very well- done. All I can say about this one, if you are into progressive Trance, you would orefer this track
In my opinion this track is made for Progressive Lovers with do like goa elements within tracks as well. I am an uplifting rtrance lover (as you can see on my other reviews), but when I heard this Vinyl I bought it at once, cause I think it's a very good one!
