E-Craig has worked his magic on one of Blank & Jones' recent tracks and come up with two new mixes for Liquid's white label run...
The latest E-Craig remix package on Liquid's white label will catch your eye easily - it comes in a blindingly bright yellow sleeve and is pressed on some swanky cloudy grey and black vinyl. Ok, so its done a good job at getting your attention so far, lets see what it sounds like...
:: Blank & Jones - Pefect Silence (E-Craig Remixes) :: WL :: WL024
A: Perfect Silence (E-Craig's 212 Mix) The track kicks off with a strong, chunky, bassy beat. This meaty element of the track is an excellent solid foundation and really leads the track throughout its 10 minute journey. The most noticeable element joins in soon after the start - it'll be a familiar sound to most because the Filterheadz use it a lot - a short, soft and gentle hook played over and over in the background. It adds so much atmosphere and is one of the most chilled sounds you could ever hear in a track. The breakdowns are soft and chilled and feature vocal snippets which have a nice ambient feel to them due to the heavy reverb used. One of the tracks best moments is when it kicks in after this breakdown. It does so with force and is bound to rock a dancefloor or two! Further elements from the original work their way in, the most obvious one being the guitar which plays small and idyllic melodies. These are really nice and work well on the melodic, ambient and progressional aspects of the track alike. Both calm and a little bit banging, a piece of class courtesy of Blank & Jones and E-Craig!
AA: Perfect Silence (E-Craig's 212 Dub Mix) The 212 Dub Mix is the same as the 212 Mix other than that there are no verse vocals used inbetween breakdowns. The wispy and atmospheric vocals are still present in the breakdowns.
Conclusion:
A fine track indeed - the best thing about it is the constant gentle hook in the background which just sounds great and along with all the right sounds and a quality beat to back it up you get a properly cracking remix!
