Hope's latest signing gets to show off their talents with Beyond Your Soul/Echo.
Parallel Sound – Beyond Your Soul/Echo (Hope Recordings) (Hope054)
Hope Recordings are back with a vengeance after a very good 2004, this should only be news to you, if you have been living under a rock or have gone into hiding for the last six months. Anyway, Hope’s crack team of talent scouts heard this CDR and immediately snapped this up. Not much is known about Parallel Sound, this is their second release and they are most probably from the United Kingdom, they are made up of Musa Hove & Adam Helliwell. If they keep making records for Hope, they might be well known, who knows?
Parallel Sound – Beyond Your Soul/Echo (Hope Recordings)
A.Beyond Your Soul B.Echo
A.Beyond Your Soul
This begins with a fierce bassline, which gives you the indication that this track will probably be a stormer. I like to think positively as much as possible, when doing these reviews. Some fierce trippy riffs and drums join in and this track starts to pack an immense punch. The vocal rolls in, it is situated more near the middle but it adds to the track in so many ways. The fierce nature of all the instrumentation + the hypnotic nastiness of the vocal makes this a complete stormer. The record immediately starts to roll on and you can’t help thinking of the Nick Warren GU Style records with fierce minimal energy and this is it and apparently Warren has been hammering this for sometime. Everything about this record screams out peak time but I think this is a great 2nd hour record that immediately devastates the place with mean nastiness. The record is worth buying just for this nasty slice of progressive meanness.
B.Echo
Echo heads in a completely different direction than “Beyond Your Soul”. It is more acid house with trippy breaks. The acid lines immediately catch your attention but the track still contains some progressive influences. I love the bassline that just chugs along with this track because it just has so much energy with it. Echo is more of an opening set style record but it achieves the same purpose, just in a different matter than side A.
Conclusion:
Buy this record!, Beyond your soul is just mean and nasty and it will surely help your sets. It is not dull like most of the tripe that has sadly weighed down music of late but this completely rocks my socks and it will rock yours. Echo is also a solid record but it is not in your face like the other but still this is a solid 12” and it is released on Feb 28th.2005. Be sure to check this out at your local record store, I think you will be wowed, like I was.
