Who is coming up in the next six weeks on the fabled Radio 1 turntables? Find out!
Essential Mix Update
As you know, the Essential Mix has been going strong since 1993, that makes it 12 years old in 2005. Anyway, here is the 2nd update for who is up on the fabled Radio 1 turntables for Late Feb, March and early April 2005.
Feb 27.2005 sees the man known as Martin or as they love to call him “Krafty Kuts” as a Breakspoll Special. If you did not know, the Breakspoll is the Grammies of the Breakbeat world and everyone in the Breakbeat world turns up for the event.
March 6th.2005 sees another artist from the Soma Stable get an Essential Mix. Simply known as Silicone Soul or Craig Morrison & Graeme Reedie as it says on their driver licenses. They should bring their unique take on Tech House to the worldwide masses.
March 13th.2005 brings the man who enleashed “Call On Me” and a few other infectious grooves to the world. The man is Eric Prydz and who knows what he will bring to the Radio 1 masses.
March 20th.2005 brings Evilness back into the world or as the duo like to be called "Evil Nine". As their debut album was released a little while ago, they are back with a vengeance and so is their label Marine Parade, who is now run by Hope Management.
March 27th.2005 is from the big industry event known as Winter Music Conference from Miami, Florida, where all the big honchos and label owners and label artists show up to see what’s new, what artists they should sign and basically it is an industry wide festival. Well from that event, you will hear the UK progressive DJ known as Desyn Masiello for the first hour and the American duo known as Gabriel and Dresden for the 2nd hour.
April 3rd. 2005 sees the debut of the Japanese Nutter known as Yoji Biomehanika and who knows what he has in store for his mix.
The Essential Mix is broadcast from 1-3am British Standard Time Sunday Morning on Radio 1. You can listen live or listen to the Essential Mix for a week on the site. www.bbc.co.uk/radio1
