Modulation's latest track is floating around now and has had a lot of remix work done to it, so lets check them out...

Sky (Cosmicman Remix)
This first remix initially sets the scene with a good, tough beat and scratchy percussion. The real essence of the track is felt when the bassline kicks in though - deep and energetic bass notes throb out, adding a dark feel to the driving energy. We first hear the melody in the breakdown. It has a familiar sound about it, especially when it is joined by another synth. It is a kind of retro, summery sound, which is really nice and calming to listen to. A slow but strong build kicks everything off again and along with that fantastic bassline that jumps back in, you have some quality trance action happening!
Sky (Gen C Sunrise Remix)
The remix by Gen C takes on a slower pace and a more standard kick / percussion combo. Again though, the bassline is key to this track. This time its a rounded, rolling and unrelenting bassline. Gentle piano notes are interspersed throughout this section and add some nice atmosphere before the breakdown. The breakdown is where all the synths come into play with pads lining the background, soft notes playing the beginnings of a melody and some gentle female vocals blended nicely into the background. When things kick off, the track is driven (bassline aside) by a simple trancey hook played by a soft and airy synth. The icing on the cake for me is the well placed piano notes which complement the lead synth really well.
Conclusion:
These are some very nice remixes of Modulation's 'Sky'. Cosmicman's remix is fairly strong and driving due to that powerful bassline whilst Gen C's Sunrise remix takes a calm and blissful approach. Definitely check these out!
