After last years' message that the end of the Time Warp events in Mannheim was decided, Time Warp now celebrates its rebirth! After the motto "Colours of Rhythm" thousands will dance again at the Maimarkthallen in Mannheim the 2nd April 2005...
Ludwigshafen, Ratingen – 3rd of Feb 2005 – March 2004 not only marked the 10th anniversary of Germany's most successful event series, Time Warp, but also a new pinnacle in the history of electronic dance music. Now, to celebrate its 11th anniversary, Time Warp will be undergoing structural changes, broadening its musical and cultural scope and setting the standards for another 10 years.
In association with TDK Marketing Europe, Time Warp will develop the logical progression of the previous concept. In TDK Marketing Europe, cosmopop, the promotion company behind the successful Time Warp brand, has found a strong partner to share and bring to life a new vision for a truly unique and exciting form of event.
And Saturday, 2nd April 2005, will take the first step into the future, hailing in a new motto for a new event: TDK Time Warp - colours of rhythm. Why? One of the key values of Time Warp is “rhythm”, the underlying energy of a creative lifestyle. “Rhythm” links people all over the world. “Colours” refers to the different sides and aspects of modern life. TDK Time Warp colours of rhythm is the cultural festival of the future and addresses individuals who feel the rhythm inside themselves and who are associated with the endless diversity of an electronic lifestyle culture.
Besides promoting the highly renowned rave party, TDK Time Warp will as part of this new concept be branching out into other exciting fields. For starters, a distinguished Mannheim location will be hosting an exclusive performance of Plaid, Hexstatic and Luke Vibert. A location which represents the structural change of TDK Time Warp and gives host to another new feature of the event: multimedia art installations. The selected items will all have one thing in common; they will have a strong reference to music and technological innovation, the core values of TDK Time Warp. Furthermore, TDK Time Warp will offer a special area for record labels to present their talents and sell their products to customers and a business-to-business lounge for the music industry. The several zones will all be labelled by their own “colour”. Blue defines the event featuring icons like Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, DJ Hell, Ricardo Villalobos and many many more. Red is the colour of the labelcamp. The multimedia event is defined by green.
This year, Time Warp is held in 3 locations:
