Love Fist have finally finished the long awaited follow up to their first title. The new one is called "Don't Give Up On Me" and its receiving some very strong feedback from a selection of big names...
Love Fist's first release, "Hangin' On A String" did well, receiving all round good support and reactions. Working off of that success, E-Craig, DeeKay and MacMark have evolved their sound and produced a new monster. Positive comments and support from Marco V, Johan Gielen, Cosmic Gate and Blank & Jones further confirm this, along with dancefloor reactions...
:: Love Fist - Don't Give Up On Me :: RR Recordings :: RR026
A: Don't Give Up On Me (Remix) The A-side of the record boasts whats been simply dubbed as the Remix of this new track. A rather penetrating beat kicks things off. After a very short time the sound is layed on thick as a powerful gurgling bass takes control. You can tell MacMark's influence has rubbed off here because this sounds very similar to his own 'Foot Massage' track released late last year. This tough, funky and driving bass driven section establishes itself solidly and warms you for the approaching breakdown. We witness a change of flavour here - a heavily vocoded vocal begins and is immersed in a thick shroud of synth. Its all quite mysterious and melodic. This gives way to a more aggressive sounding synth, heavy in thick tranciness with a really nice and strong bassy element to it, which begins to stab out a rhythmic melody. You can feel power growing and then the first of a few drops occur. Some awesome bass kicks in - truly deep and driving while the synth continues moodily in the background. The final drop comes in and the track stomps on with added percussion and extra strength in the synth department - the sound just is so strong and awesome feeling! There is one more breakdown where you get to relive the onset of these rich, thick and engrossing sounds once more until things stomp and drive their way to an end. Absolutely spot on.
B: Don't Give Up On Me (Original) The original of this track features on the B-side of the vinyl. It doesn't have that MacMark-style bassline but instead employs something a little more active and upbeat. We see a longer breakdown with some interesting effects added to the main melodic hook. The synth is very similar, except it isn't as rich and isn't as reverbed - cutting back on epicness to keep a precise tightness to things. A much simpler track than the Remix, this one sticks to a more minimal style.
Conclusion:
The remix of this track on the A-Side is pure quality. The thick, rich sounds and deep, engrossing bass will dominate you, making this something you really want to hear out played loud. The Original is a nicely produced piece but the remix Love Fist has put in will blow you away.
