A huge hit with house jocks like Danny Howells, Seb Fontaine, Desyn Masiello, and Rowan Blades, Ethan's 'In My Heart' is an electro house rocker that is sure to fill up any dancefloor. Read on for the breakdown of the Seelenluft Remix as well as the low down on the Instrumental mix!
A1. Seelenluft's Silvercity-Bob Remix
The remix starts off with a warm bassline and chunky pecussion, quickly giving way to an acid line melody. As the percussion builds, its clear that this track is dancefloor oriented and wastes no time creating a very danceable rhythym. Vocals come in and at first they are a little cheesy and embarassing. But as soon as the the effects and bassline are added, the vocals take on a new dimension and they drive the track quite effectively. The combination of the bassline, acid line, melody, thick percussion, and diva vocals make it hard not to get out of your chair and dance around. The vocal hook repeats and the track eventually winds down into a break that delivers more of that intoxicating synthesized melody. After the melody dies off, the track is stripped back down to the drums and bassline. Overall, this is a great remix that continually adds interesting elements. Its fairly short, but I prefer it that way because there is no redundancy. As I mentioned before, all the elements work very well together and the only downside is a couple of lines in the vocals that don't last more than a couple bars.
B1. Radio Edit
The radio edit is basically a condensed version of the instrumental with vocals. Unfortunately, there is no full length vocal mix on the vinyl. This edit is pretty useless to DJs, but will probably get a good amount of play on radio stations in the US and Europe.
Instrumental Mix
This mix starts off in much the same way the Seelenluft Remix does, building fast by adding percussion, bassline, and effects. The acid line joins and thats when this mix really takes off. The main difference between the Seelenluft Remix and the Instrumental are the pads used in the break, as well as a rather obnoxious acidic melody that is on top of the existing acid line. Thankfully, there is a Rowan Blades & Desyn Masiello Edit floating around on CDR that takes care of this, but I doubt that will see the light of day. This is definately the remix you drop at 6am when everyone's drugs are at their peak and the night is coming to close. Rather than being stripped down to the drums, the track's ending phase is full on, giving way to a break that fades out as the track ends. Very catchy and dancefloor friendly, but its too bad there is no full length vocal mix.
Conclusion:
Overall, this is a great package that is available commercially through Incentive. This is gonna be a big tune for the spring and summer, even though several jocks have been caning it since January. Go buy it!
